VGW: From the first moments of our ten-minute gameplay demonstration, it was impossible to not be struck by the vivid colors present in the game. Gone is the gritty brown/grey palate so present in games today. Also gone is the oppressive, moody feel that was fitting for the first BioShock, but clearly has no place in this scenic skyworld of Columbia. Everything felt bright and snappy, with incredible detail and a turn-of-the-century feel. Every pixel on the screen felt original and imaginative, making us wonder why this range of colors – which is so beautiful as to feel almost impossible on the hardware – isn’t more common.
