Hope to god this isn't for kinect.

TimTebo5117d ago

if it is my interest level goes from 110 to -100.

Sad, but true. Kinect and me is like my ex girlfriend. We don't mix.

Sinkway5117d ago (Edited 5117d ago )

hmm you think MS would but money into 2 kinect-gladiator-like games? God i hope not! I hope this is for the control. And why wasn't this shown at E3? Is there another games expo coming up? Being serious.

captain-obvious5117d ago

all i see is one pic
ummmmmm
wtf is this all about ??

AAACE55116d ago

Has to be for Kinect! Look at the name... Blood Forge! There is so much testosterone and toughness in that name saying..."I'm for the core gamer".

darthv725116d ago

the love for kinect is .....

I guess it is true what they say. You hate what you fear most.

You guys have nothing to fear from kinect. It is the natural progression of interactivity, just ahead of its time. We all know there would come a day when you no longer would need a controller but you would interact with the environment as if in VR.

So what is the real reason for the kinect hate? That it is what it is or that it is made by Microsoft and not somebody else?

rezzah5116d ago

Not sure if you noticed but people prefer a controller rather than nothing at all.

If at least they can make the game for both then there is no issue (Sony does this).

However MS isn't likely to do that because the controls would be very different from each other, and the game itself would play out very differently based on the type of game. More money and more time. Like working on two separate games.

This is Kinect game. I just was reading. Its kinect game :(

thereapersson5117d ago

Well if it's a Kinect game, it sure looks like the type of Kinect game that people were worried wouldn't exist.

This looks pretty hardcore to me.

guigsy5117d ago

Reading what may I ask? It doesn't say either way in the article.

kingdoms5116d ago (Edited 5116d ago )

Why do you have a 360? I doubt it reading your history. I better go check out the article now, got to see why this game has angered the 99 percent of the ps3 fanboys in here.

Iamback5117d ago

AAA lol
What qualifies it as AAA ? LMAO

AlexCage5117d ago

What qualifies as AAA?

-A game that has a high production budget (so nothing like The Last Templar or bargin bin titles.)

-Not a xbla, or a psn title.

-A game that stands with the big boys "uncharted, halo, gears, dark souls, skyrim, etc..."

Iamback5117d ago

Again. What QUALIFIES this game, based on two screenshots, to be called AAA?

1.You don't know how big budget is
2.If it is Kinect game
3.How it plays
4.If it is GOOD game

How this = AAA

M.ronic

iamnsuperman5117d ago

"-A game that stands with the big boys "uncharted, halo, gears, dark souls, skyrim, etc..."" not necessarily. It only means big budget and big budget doesn't mean great game

@Lamback well said...+bubs. We have no idea of the budget from two screenshots. Every new exclusive is just labelled as AAA by default. The whole AAA tag is stupid.

maniacmayhem5116d ago (Edited 5116d ago )

Triple A really depends on the budget of the game set by the company.
Different companies have different budgets they can spend. the higher the budget and focus of a game is what is considered AAA.

For example if you had your own company and you were making/coding a small xbla title and it's taking a lot of your money, time and resource, to you personally it would be considered AAA. But to a company like EA or Blizzard your project would be lunchtime at McDonalds.

Just because its not an established IP or its not fun doesnt mean its not a AAA title.

GrumpyVeteran5117d ago

It means this:

AAAA = A game scoring a 10
AAA = A game that scores from 9.0 to 9.9
AA = 8.0 to 8.9
A = 7.0 to 7.9

It's just used in scoring scenarios. It's stupid to use AAA here, as we have no idea what the game will be like and no scoring has been done yet.

For example, Call of Duty (hate it if you must) is an AAA game. (Scores average above 90)

Hope that makes sense.

M-A-R-S-H-A-L-L5116d ago (Edited 5116d ago )

....*facepalm*

He's commenting on the fact that they called this game AAA when we don't know anything about it yet.

God man, common sense isn't that hard to use.

dragonelite5117d ago

We know more about this game then Agent but then again i dont know the dev what is their previous work for rock star you know it will get a 90 plus on metacritic.

TimTebo5117d ago

Screenshots look like 300..nice!

HuGi5117d ago

cant even understand what it wrote there.

Chicken Chaser5117d ago

Translation:

"We must honestly admit that we have not heard much about it but Bloodforge is a violent-looking action game from UK Climax, which right now is only coming for Xbox 360 We have obtained the first two pictures you can see right here."

N4PS3G5117d ago

This is the stuff they need to show at E3, but NOOO!! Let's show Kinect Disneyland! Now that's hardcore!

TheLastGuardian20105117d ago

It does kinda make you scratch your head, and wonder why they decided to show of games like Kinect Disneyland, and Kinect Seaseme Street, and neglected to show off games like this?

Weird.

revengemadmax5117d ago

might be because all they have to show is the two screenshots?

TXIDarkAvenger5116d ago

Well, if there going to show hardcore games after E3, I'm glad but they most likely won't until TGS or the next E3 sadly.

I pre-ordered Kinect Disneyland. The visuals made me change my pants.

Bloodforge Sales & Specials Review - XCLANN

It seems strange today that fifteen years ago a game could sell purely because it was gory. Games like Manhunt received free advertising because of their gore that only helped their sales but nowadays games are supposed to have more depth and complexity than simply covering the foreground with red all the time. As you might guess from the name, Bloodforge attempts to be unique by doing something hundreds of games have already done making every single enemy in the game explode in a bloody mess whenever they’re killed.

Seraphemz4541d ago

Wasnt that War Z game out in 2012? I would say that it had to make the list of worst games..

StrongMan4541d ago

Definitely Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor is the worst game of 2012. It got a 38 on metacritic and sold only a measly 60k copies. It doesn't get any worse than that.

from the beach4541d ago

Yeah, for me and the dozen other dudes who figured out how to play it, it was one of 2012's gems.

memots4541d ago (Edited 4541d ago )

from the beach.

I agree its definitely an interesting game and this shows how gamers are unwilling to adjust to new ways of playing, Challenges for the new generation is not something they are willing to face.
This is Lair all over again, No one was willing to learn the control and flagged it as broken but yet i finished it in one sitting learning the control and had a blast.

porkChop4541d ago

Having played the game, I can safely say that it had nothing to do with people not being able to "learn" the controls. The problem was that the controls don't work. They make it look so effortless in the bullshit trailers, but in the actual game nothing ever works right. So the two of you can consider yourselves VERY lucky.

Now when it comes to Lair, I will agree. The controls in Lair actually did work, you just had to get used to it. But Steel Battalion isn't like that, the game is just fucking broken.

When your consumer spends more time fighting with the controls, rather than playing the game itself, that's just bad design. It has nothing to do with learning anything.

from the beach4541d ago (Edited 4541d ago )

Yeah, well having beaten the game I can safely say the controls did work, but it takes patience to learn and composure and skill to pull off.

I think assuming it is "effortless" was your mistake, you need to take a bit of time with the set up and make your movements deliberate and consistent or Kinect doesn't know what you're doing.

Remember that this was a completely unprecedented control system - you can't expect to go straight in and kick ass, you have to feel your way in. The actual game was tough as balls too so I've no doubt that's part of why people gave up.

I didn't play Lair so I can't comment, but I can imagine it being the same sort of thing.

Also, I have to pull you up on "very lucky" - obviously there's no such thing when it comes to a game, it either WORKS or DOES NOT WORK. The fact is that I could play it.

Worst 7 Games of 2012 (so far)

gamrReview: "A week or so ago we presented our picks for the best games of the year so far (click here if you missed it). Now it's time to name and shame the worst games of the year so far. In what is very much a case of the triumph of hope over experience, we have our fingers crossed that the list remains relatively unchanged come the end of the year."

Ninja Gaiden 3 was truly awful.

And Namco should be ashamed of Ridge Racer tbh.

CustardTrout4724d ago

I have a signed ridge racer poster, that's about the highlight of the game for me.

stonecold34724d ago

what happened to resident evil operation racoon city why didnt it get metioned on there as well

4724d ago
hilmart4724d ago

Revelations 2012 isn't on this list... It's byfar the WORST game of the year, maybe even in the history of gaming by some points of view.
