next gen each system should come with a sausage so fanboys can literally have something to suck on since that's all they're doing anyway.

it will also make comparisons easier - as in my sausage is bigger than yours, but as always there will be fanboys who can't win that say the sausage's taste is what matters most instead.

OK, so the sausage idea is a bad one since we all know around Christmas time Microsoft will offer 2 sauasges for the price of one so fanboys can take one at both ends and it's pointless to argue with them then

VampiricDragon4740d ago (Edited 4740d ago )

This article is pretty terrible.

It doesnt even include the most important things

1) lower development costs
2) More diversity and originality
3) More quantity
4) more transparency in terms of security risks and issues

And dd is the future? You could of fooled me. Considering 75 percent of software sales is physical and hackers are trying to take online apart

iamnsuperman4740d ago (Edited 4740d ago )

Digital distribution... not this argument. Not going to happen for at least 10 or 20 years because of the cost of installing fast broadband. 50mb is one thing but downloading a game is going to take a long time and also everyone downloading at the same time (Crashing servers rings a bell)

TheLastGuardian20104740d ago

How about instead of focusing on the next generation, we focus on the current generation and how we can make it better...

fluffydelusions4740d ago

Because new Wii will likely force ms/Sony into next Gen sooner

VampiricDragon4740d ago

definitely not. Most analysts, and even the companies have said theyve only just started the next system process.

2 year is being really kind

fluffydelusions4740d ago

If you believe they just started on next gen you'd be fooling yourself. Planning for that starts when current gen systems released to the market.

TheLastGuardian20104740d ago

According to my sources that's not the case. ;)

R0me4740d ago

There were enough articles about how Sony works together with their first party studios to make it more developer friendly. Thats long ago. They just dont leak every plan. I think they develop many ideas, some get overruled, others get in a short list and finally the best will be developed in all its particulars.

@TheLastGuardian2010
Yeah right you had a dinner with Sony board and talked about the PS4 development? You dont have a source.

i say no for digital distribution just imagine you buy a game and download it just to find out the game is piece of crap. what can you do? nothing you already bought it

fluffydelusions4740d ago

That is why I wait for reviews. If enough say the same thing you can get a general idea if it is worth a purchase.

NoobSessions4740d ago

Plus itd be very expensive for gamers. I can go to the store and buy a bargain bin game I really wanna play for about $15. Through the console it'd proably be like $30

Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform

H91d 9h ago

Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal

OtterX1d 3h ago

That is some serious brain gymnastics you have going on there. 🤔

H91d ago

I didn't do any gymnastics I can assure you, honestly I don't know why you think that, not hating I seriously don't see why you think that

ZeekQuattro22h ago

Yeah I don't know where that came from. It's rare for Nintendo to flat out aquire studios. Guess they were trying to be edgy but why flex on this studio. 🤣

Kneetos2h ago

At least they are safer from layoffs with Nintendo then any other company

banger881d 9h ago

I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.

Relientk771d 6h ago

Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."

You can't make this crap up lol

Profchaos1d 4h ago

Mortal Kombat 1 was never going to port well I'm sure they told wb it wasn't going to work but wb wants that sweet sweet 140 million install base

In the end wb approved the project cleared the milestones and allowed the product to release

SonOfOsiris1d ago

Yeah this guys ported MK11 which is great, Hogwarts Legacy which is great, and MK1 is now ok, play it every day

F*** AI

"Hey Copilot, what's a good meme to prove I dislike AI".... https://giphy.com/clips/sou...

Einhander19721d 19h ago

Two trillion dollar company that just can't wait to put as many people possible out of work as fast as possible.

It feels like every single thing they do is making gaming worse and destroying the industry.

....you know it takes people to program the AI.... right? It isnt like it is sentient. We haven't reach skynet level of situation or anywhere close to the matrix just yet.

That's next Thursday.

Einhander197215h ago(Edited 15h ago)

It takes a people to program the AI then that AI is used for who knows how many games eliminating countless jobs which only grows as AI is used for more and more game creation functions.

What you're saying is so ridiculously short sighted and truly larking any kind of understanding and foresight.

Why all the hate? Im actually excited about this! Always wanted this kind of immersion, and an AI companion with me all the time helping me out knowing the status of my skills/inventory/progress and giving me tips on the best approach or how to craft something specific is game changing for the industry.

Hate all you want about AI, but this is just the start and I can see the potential already. You wont be complaining in the next 5-10 years about this, but rather complain if a game hasn’t implemented it.

MrDead1d 7h ago

Yes we can't wait for the work of others to be used without the need to pay them so that MS can profit even more from the people they fire.

I_am_Batman1d 7h ago (Edited 1d 7h ago )

There is no chance I'd ever use something like this, especially if it's not part of the core game design, but a layer on top of it. It's way too much handholding. Many games already feel like busy work, because they don't let the player figure things out on their own. Having a real-time interactive guide defeats the purpose of playing the game in the first place in my opinion.

If this were to become the standard like you predict, we'll see more and more video games get away with bad design, because people will just be used to ask for help from the AI companion anyway.

Number1TailzFan1d 6h ago

Well Nintendo don't need this with some of their games these days, with invincible characters, items, easy bosses etc.. they do the hand holding built in

helicoptergirl1d 7h ago

Takes "hand holding" in games to a whole new level.
