Interview with Merle Dandridge (Actress, Half Life 2) - Alternative Magazine Online

Half Life 2 completely blew gamers away when it was released in 2004. Not only did the game totally deliver on its promises, it managed to succeed where many other shooters up until that point had arguably failed, featuring quality characterisation and genuine relationships with non-player characters. Case in point: Alyx Vance, a female sidekick that, although attractive, didn’t need to wear a low-cut top for millions of fans to fall in love with her. Voiced to perfection by Merle Dandridge, Alyx was a breath of fresh air in genre that was fast becoming stale. how about my house let's say around...right now.

I never knew she was so FN hot! . i knew the girl they actually modeled Alyx after was hot but DAM!
Merle Dandridge is on FIRE! Love her voice....and everything else :)

the second and third pics are the gorgeous Jamil Mullen with the second pic the actual mug shot Valve used of her.

On a sadder and much depressed note...she didn't say "Oh i just finished all my lines for HL2 ep3".

Are you sure you played HL2 in 2004? It was a bit of a let down if you'd been following the previews and tech demos. None of the cool stuff (Actual AI, being chased through a house having to board up the entrances, a hearing tentacle like that of the first game) made it into the game.

Plenty of cool stuff made it into the game! The engine itself was way beyond any other first person shooter at the time and the character of Alyx was obviously something pretty special too. Sure, stuff was cut from the game during development but in no way did Half Life 2 feel incomplete.

On top of that, the critics loved it: over 6 years later it still sits as the highest rated PC game ever made on Metacritic.com. Of course everyone will have a different opinion, but for me Half Life 2 promised the best FPS ever made and upon release, it totally delivered.
