GWC - When the Intellivision home video game console released at the dawn of the 1980’s, I was a toddler. My father chose to purchase it over the popular Atari 2600. Whatever his reasons, my earliest video game memories involve the Intellivision, particularly beating him in Armor Battle when I was four or five years old and ending his desire to play video games ever again. When EastBayRI was a kid during the great Atari 2600 vs. Intellivision war. They always thought Intellivision was for rich kids – probably because George Plimpton was in the commercials. They never owned one at the time, but it was clear the Intellivision had superior graphics and a more advanced control pad. That didn’t mean the games were more fun to play, however, but some of them were excellent.

And they still are.
