GATT: When Seven45 Studio’s Power Gig arrived, I wasn’t sure what to expect. There have been extreme failures in the music genre (Rock Revolution anyone), and any new IP I approach with extreme prejudice. This game however aspires to be something different than Guitar Hero or Rock Band. With a storyline akin to that of Brutal Legend, and a sound track that any one from the 90/00′s will love, did this game have the “it factor” to make a new ip? The answer to that question became very simple once I, GATT’s GamerX started playing the story mode.
"It is such a bad game that it makes other games in its genre seem that much better." ~ Blake Morse
"As ten minutes listening to any Top 40 radio station will tell you, timing is far more important than talent in the music business. If Led Zeppelin was just arriving on the scene today, they’d be lucky to open for Katy Perry. Rhythm action band game Power Gig: Rise of the SixString is another great example. Three years ago, its licensed soundtrack and creative guitar and drum controllers might have made it a player. But its timing is awful and it’s here now, far too late to become legendary. In fact, it’s more Justin Bieber than John Lennon in the talent department, too."
Neocrisis: Power Gig dev Seven45 Studios did not go into detail regarding the number of staff being laid-off, apparently it was due to the cycle of game development and a re-focus on future projects.
