ya...and it sometime helps(when reviewers aren't showered with gifts)

Yet another open world game that doesn't deserve the praise it gets... sure have been getting a lot of those this gen *cough every single Rockstar game cough*

HolyOrangeCows2827d ago

And now 84%. And soon probably a slight different score and so on and so forth for a day or so.

I'm a guy who never picked up FO3. To the people who have both, would you say I should try FO3 first or just go straight to New Vegas?

Bubbles for anyone that helps out.

Imperator2827d ago

Try FO3 first and then New Vegas. Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games, and New Vegas is pretty awesome so far. Really, they're both great games, but you can find FO3 cheaper so go with that and by the time you're finished with it, New Vegas may be cheaper.

Fallout 3 is amazing, try it first. Buy the Goty edition, it's cheap now

showtimefolks2827d ago

don't buy GOTY edition but buy the simple fallout 3 for like 8.99 try it if you really like it than by than goty will be even more cheaper closer tom black friday

i bought fallout 3 at launch special edition with that lunch box didn't like it bought it again for 8.99 still didn't like it.

so don't waste your hard earned 60 on new vegas before you getb the taste of fallout and very inexpensive

ReservoirDog3162827d ago

Thanks everyone.

So get FO3 (it is really cheap nowadays) and wait till New Vegas drops cause they're both worth it.

Sounds good and thanks again.

i am trying to get into that but can't so i guess this game is just not for me. but overall fallout series to many gamers is a great series

Baka-akaB2827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

depends what you dislike in FA3 .... if you find the writing subpar and the game with too few rpg elements , then obsidian's version might please you with stuff more pleasing for older FA1 and 2 fans .

Cold 20002827d ago

I know what u mean. I also gave FO 3 a try after hearing so many things about the game. Got 8 hours into it and never picked it up again for the simple reason the game was kind of boring to me.
Theres almost no story, so thers nothing driving me forward and making me feel like going farther. I dont care about wandering around and leveling up "pointlessly". I need a story to drive me forward.

showtimefolks2827d ago

i am at level 4 got the 2 bobbleheads so start me up great but i feel like what's the point in a way i guess i am not into rpg games

but for people who like fallout to everyone their own that's what great aboutn gaming we can all like something different

Panthers2827d ago

Well dont go by FO3 to judge every RPG. The number one reason I love RPG games is story, and FO3 doesnt have story. Usually there is a point to keep going on.

ive hardly played the fallout series, but it typically gets some amazing scores. this is great and all but lets face it dude fallouts should be at least a 90..

Eiffel2827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

Fallout 1 is a 89

Fallout 2 is a 86

Fallout Tactics is a 82

Fallout 3 is a 93

Fallout New Vegas is a 86

Regardless of this, it's a good game. A score doesn't mean shit if based on a persons personal experience with a game. Only true way to judge a game is to actually play it than judge it off a number.

ReservoirDog3162827d ago

Reveiws before this gen were much different though. Kinda like looking at metacritic for movies. Lots of 70s for very good movies. But this gen, everything's a 9 or 10. So that 89 for FO1 is like a 130 nowadays.

Just thought I should mention that.

blackburn52827d ago

Is this out yet? Anyone played it? I am considering either FO3 or New Vegas but never played a Fallout game berore. Any suggestions?

dragon822827d ago

I would suggest getting the Fallout 3 GOTY for really cheap first. Play through that and then get Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout 3 is my favorite RPG this generation and New Vegas is shaping up to be just as good. I am only a few hours in right now but I am loving every minute of it.

Panthers2827d ago

Well GOTY edition is king of expensive. I might pick up the original FO3. Its like $20 new on Amazon. the GoTY edition is like $55 or something.
