The game development company Milkstone Studios, located in Asturias, Spain, has won with their Xbox 360 game 'MotorHEAT' the best gameplay award in the 'I Hó Play International Videogames Contest'.
MotorHEAT by Milkstone Studios is one of the few racing games on the Xbox LIVE Indie Games channel that is actually incredibly well made.
Gamers With Casts: MotorHEAT, a classic-style 3D racing game, is all about driving fast (there aren’t any brakes on the car) and building up your score. The game’s single mode, Sprint, has you racing down the highway in a sports car, narrowly avoiding traffic to build up your boost meter (sort of like the Burnout series).
Nukezilla: "MotorHEAT stands proud alongside the similarly addictive Decimation X in extolling the virtues of Xbox Live Indie Games as a nouveau-arcade for console gamers"
I wish more people played indie games instead of the generic whatever-is-the-next-big-game.
It's small, so hardly likely to replace a triple A release, but genuinely brilliant. I got so many hours out of this it's unreal.
Is it odd that the first thing I thought of was Egyptian Run on the Amiga when I read 'constantly accelerating car'?
