Late night imports: Ys I & II Chronicles

Pat Floyd writes: "Ys I & II Chronicles for the PSP contains two games I've played many times before. It opens with a new arrangement of a song I've heard many times before. I listened to the lilting melody for a bit, then picked up the PSP to actually play the game. Just as I was about to hit start, an unexpected brass chorus rose from the background, overpowering the familiar melody."

A Look Back at the Ys Series on PlayStation Handhelds

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "The PSP was blessed with multiple entries and this support continued onto the Vita, with remakes, ports, and a brand new title releasing over the course of the handheld’s life. It made the franchise a perfect choice for this series of articles, because although the series' future definitely isn’t on Sony’s handhelds at this point, it still had some brilliant representation over the past 12 years.

Oath at Fhelgana, Seven, Memories of Celceta and Lacrimosa of Dana are amazing games. I adore the Ys series, and Adol is one of my favorite JRPG characters ever.
