Kung-Fu LIVE Using PSEye Instead of Kinect, Wii or Move

Ripten: "Who needs Microsoft’s Kinect or even PlayStation Move when the PlayStation Eye is capable of translating all of your sweet Kung-Fu moves into the gameworld? That’s the promise of Kung-Fu LIVE, which uses the Eye to read your movements, allowing you to kick ass like Bruce Lee, right in your living room." (Kinect, Kung-Fu LIVE, Playstation Eye, Playstation Move, PS3)

This game actually looks really friggin cool. Wonder why Microsoft didn't go after these guys to put this game on XBL with Kinect?
NecrumSlavery  +   1344d ago
So you register all your moves and motions into the game, scanning your body and then fighting in either a motion-style or with the controller? That is so damn cool. This is such an awesome looking game! The comic book cutscenes are also really really awesome.

Come on fanboys
You know this game looks junk and will play the way it looks. This is side to side fighting which looks to have no challenge what so ever. AI from NES days. If this were on Kinect it would be a download in the "inde" section.
jadenkorri  +   1344d ago
@ bigpappy
and if i had a time machine and convinced the devs to use it for kinect instead, you would be praising it as the ultimate game on live that ps3 users will never play. [insert all 360 fanboyish crap i have ever heard]

Finally a reason to bust out my PS Eye that I've had basically since it released. What the hell has taken Sony so long to do actually utilize it?!?!? I used it in Burnout Paradise and with like 2 or 3 PSN applications but that's it.
D4RkNIKON  +   1344d ago
Agreed! I am on the same boat. I am just glad that Move will use the Eye so that it isn't a waste.
ExplosionSauce  +   1344d ago
Lol
It's a nice vid indeed.

Fishy!? why so many bubbles? I lost two in the last week or so. I will say I was being a little harsh on the 360 but not too harsh.

But was so FUNNY that it's worng...LOL
MariaHelFutura  +   1344d ago
IMO, this looks better than anything I`ve seen from Kinect. Children Of Eden looks/sounds pretty cool.
ThatCanadianGuy  +   1344d ago
Yep.One single PS Eye game already trumped kinects entire launch lineup.
playstation_clan  +   1344d ago
lol, bubbles dude, so true

Looks like fun.
KingNintendoFanboy  +   1344d ago
But how will they make wrist straps and protective rubber things for every item you can hold? TV's will be destroyed.
Fishy Fingers  +   1344d ago
So this is now only going to be on the PSN? Because originally it was for PSEye, Kinect and webcams (PC) wasnt it? Or am I misinformed?

That's what the press release says. PSN PSN PSN . . . the trailer is all about the PSEye lol. Funny trailer imo.
DJMarty  +   1344d ago
@Fishy Fingers
Think it's an exclusive to PS3.

Sony aiming to show Kinect for what it is an EyeToy rip off.

MOVE does everything that Kinect does and more just better.
Fishy Fingers  +   1344d ago
Yeah I just did some digging, it was a story posted here (120 days ago);
http://n4g.com/news/506557/...

"Playable on a webcam, PlayStation Eye and/or Microsoft® Project Natal"

But the links dead, and nobody else mentions anything but PSN. I guess the story is so old they just assumed. Cheers anyway guys.
Sheikh Yerbouti  +   1344d ago
Maybe it was too laggy.
kws1065  +   1344d ago
I thought MS canceled this because
this game makes Kinect look like exactly PSEye.
Sheikh Yerbouti  +   1344d ago
Ironically, I think devs are going to come up with software solutions to mimic what Microsoft can do with Kinect in the near future.

sigh....

this is 2D tracking, not 3D. Kinect does 3D as well as 2D. please, done turn a topic about a pretty fun looking game turn into a kinect bash-fest purely because people that dont understand the technology at work dont like one company but blindly love another.
PSNTomaz  +   1344d ago
Yes Kinect is a 3D tracking Camera but what games do they have that shows it off? NON.
jaredhart  +   1344d ago
Looks awesome.

Sounds familiar. Let me try and kinect the dots.
CrzyFooL  +   1344d ago
oh ho ho , I see what you did there!!
Sheikh Yerbouti  +   1344d ago
LOL...Maybe Microsoft should have bought them.
jneul  +   1344d ago
NO WAIT LET ME KINECT4, OH WAIT IGN SAID IT DOES NOT KINECT4 AT ALL
maniacmayhem  +   1344d ago
This looks bad ass. This is what MS needed back at their E3 show. If I would have seen this then I would of been fully on board with Kinect.
fr0sty  +   1344d ago
and now you see you can do the same thing with a $40 camera vs. a $150 camera.
ArchangelMike  +   1344d ago
Virtual Air Guitar = VAG
ROFLMFAO

Oh god, please don't call them that evar again!

On topic, it's a sad sad situation that Kung-Fu live (as simple as it is) trumps everything M$ has shown so far for Kinect!

This is what the Kinect should be doing!!! I guess Sony beat them to the punch ;) See what I did there?
metsgaming  +   1344d ago
u know people are going to see this and just automatically think its for the kinect and then go buy one. Trust me, if casuals see this they will just assume because of all the ads from kinect.
DigitalRaptor  +   1344d ago
Hahaha could you imagine that? The frustration of buying it and realising that this game is exclusive to PSN and uses a camera that costs over $100 less than what they paid.

Not to mention it's better than everything Kinect has to offer, for a budget price.

And I think the funny part is going to be - it will work better than Kinect titles - due to fps difference in the cameras. Check the specs. PS Eye is higher spec than Kinect. If this and some older EyeToy titles release for PS Eye before Kinect hits the street - then this will turn out really funny.
