Eyes-on: Peter Molyneux's 'Milo and Kate' project

At the TEDGlobal 2010 conference in Oxford, games developer Peter Molyneux has shown off Milo and Kate, a forthcoming game for Microsoft's Kinect Xbox add-on. The game tells the story of Milo, a boy who's just moved to New England from London with his parents, and a dog called Kate.

owning both the 360 and PS3 is the way to go, there are too many great games to miss.

Based on last years 'tech demo' of natal and this years disappointing showing can any demonstration even be trusted if its a live one from microsoft?

Personally, i would not consider buying this until there was a free beta.

This is not hate toward 360. This is hate toward the whole Milo & Kate project. After reading that article, I seriously think I'd have more fun playing with my dog than go through daily activities with an imaginary person.

There are few 360 good games that you can't play elsewhere, few real exclusives, and nearly every game is playable on PS3 or on my PC in better version.

PC / PS3 is the ultimate combo. No need for a 360.

I wonder if by having its memory "in the cloud" that means everyone who uses Milo's interactions could potentially effect yours. Such as they mentioned with slang and accents. They could easily do it, he could always be like "Hey man, check out this new accent i heard today at school!" then going on to demonstrate it. Or a similar experience with a gang kid he ran into on the way home from school and he's asking what the word means. This game gets more and more intrequeing the more i see it.

hmm..too little info to make a decision, it could all be scripted to the scene as no one was allowed to try it other than the demonstrator. Also the tasks sounded extremely boring.

When a live demo without restrictions is shown I'll make up my mind a bit.

but can you imagine in fable 4 you just talked to people instead of clicking on a pre scripted text. if they could recocnize your mood, your sencerity it could open up a whole new world for rpgs like fable and oblivion. This was the kind of thing i was talking about in some of the early stories on kinect. The possibilities are endless when it comes to kinect, its just some people are so set in there ways there to blind to see it

It would still have to be scripted but for like of direction and plot. The possibilites are not endless, they are very limited but possibly innovative if used well.
