Surprised by the score, I expected much lower 60-70 range, the voice acting is poor (from the trailers) and the animation looks sub-par.
I guess its saving grace is the gameplay.

schlanz5523d ago

I've got a feeling there will be a lot of scores in the 70s and low 80s. Probably will end up with a metascore of just under 80. Just a gut feeling.

Chubear5523d ago

... and so what if it does?

deadreckoning6665523d ago

How could you expect what it would score without even playing the demo? Well, either way, I've been waiting for this game for a long time and I have it pre-ordered.

Bereaver5523d ago

Expectations don't need a fully figured math equation. He had something to go off of. Think about it. Opinions are in the same boat as expectations. I mean, he expected it to be low scores, while you evidently expect a score higher than he expected. Get off your high horse.

HighDefinition5523d ago

The reason being when they sent out the original preview disc everyone said the game was straight garbage. Why do you think it disappeared for almost a year?

BannedForNineYears5523d ago

Why are people disagreeing with Para?
I 100% agree.
The game looks like total crap!!!

AbyssGravelord5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

Because that's his opinion and not everyone else has that same opinion.

BannedForNineYears5523d ago

Watch this : http://www.youtube.com/watc...
and tell me the game does not look like garbage.
Look through the comments.
I'm pretty sure you'll find at least half of the comments saying something negative about the game/trailer. -_-

AbyssGravelord5522d ago (Edited 5522d ago )

Once again those comments are "opinions."

Dumbass.

BannedForNineYears5522d ago

Since when are opinions simply discarded?
Are reviews not opinions?
If every single person alive said a game sucks, is it still an opinion? Does an opinion not have any more meaning if it's the opinion of the majority?

"Saving grace"?
Uhhh....the last I checked, Gameplay outranked voice acting and animations....by a lot.

This game has been on my radar for a while. Certain is looking to be shaping up well.

JL5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

Agreed. I've been looking forward to this game for quite a while and glad it's finally coming. Looks to be shaping up well. The gameplay seems very cool and love the concept of the game. Very excited for it. Unfortunately though it will have to be put on hold. RDR and ModNation are going to be consuming my time for a while.

Definitely will be picking this up later though. Espionage-RPG just sounds bad as hell. As far as I'm concerned I don't get all the concern about graphics these days. So long as the game doesn't look like it should be on PS1 then I'm fine. Gameplay is what it's all about for me. Though honestly I don't expect this game to end up getting really high scores. I'd expect a high 70s to low 80s to probably be the standard. I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun with it though.

GrilledCheeseBook5523d ago

exactly
i do not see why people thought it looked bad
all i saw were bashing on the graphics while the gameplay seemed fun and smooth. games are judged by graphics way too often

Tony P5523d ago

It's really a shame how presentation trumps depth these days.

AP ain't as smooth as say...ME2, but it's customizable, gives you more skills, more ways to handle situations, and the same rich choice-filled dialogue you'd get in a BioWare game. Usually better, imo.

Letros5523d ago (Edited 5523d ago )

I expected the graphics to be dated, it's kind of a Mass Effect 1 spin off(and comparing both min req spec on PC they are the same). That being said, graphics don't really concern me for this game, so hopefully all the other reviews are similar.

BakedGoods5523d ago

Yeah, this game's been in development for a while. The outdated graphics where probably more competitive when they first started making this game (eg, just after KOTOR 2).

Either way, a spy-RPG sounds like an awesome combination. As long as reviews float in the 70's--I'm there.

Rampaged Death5523d ago

Suprised as the game doesn't look great. Will wait to see how the other reviews turn out.

the-show-stopper5523d ago

not really that bad of a game
it was on my radar for a while but then it fell off
if it gets some good reviews from actual rpg fans then ill consider renting or buying it

One of the few 7th gen game that I'll full heartedly support for a remake.
Its a very unique RPG and deserves its faults fixed the 2nd time.

TheNamelessOne368d ago

I would be so for this. Alpha Protocol is the definition of a diamond in the rough. Before being acquired by Microsoft, Obsidian presented their ideas for a sequel, multiple times, but were always shot down. Even something simple like a remaster is very unlikely.

ZeekQuattro367d ago

Still have a physical copy for my PS3. Clunky at times but I had a lot of fun with it back in the day.

TheColbertinator367d ago

Had some issues but that game was brilliant.

SheenuTheLegend493d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long494d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons494d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor494d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens52493d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey602493d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor494d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B493d ago (Edited 493d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
