Why Stormfront Studios Shut Down

Critical Gamer writes: Let us travel back into game history time just a little. In April 2008, esteemed development studio Stormfront Studios announced its closure. Always a shame to see a dev shut down, especially one with a history like Stormfront's.

scruffy_bear5099d ago

Yeah we lost so many classic dev it the last few years

Cubes5099d ago

Sad but true. I wonder how long it will be until Infinity Ward joins the list!

scruffy_bear5099d ago (Edited 5099d ago )

Not too long :(

mjolliffe5099d ago

Not long, unless Activision offer a shed load of money to top quality developers...

20 million dollars of trade in ten days? Woah. I seriously need to get into this business...

Sucks, I loved Blood Wake on the Xbox, I remember looking at the graphics when it came out and thinking "wow, it looks so real!". It was a pretty hard game though. :(

The publisher of their Wii title made a huge mistake, Wii sales are still pretty good two years later. Software sales are hit or miss but who knows, maybe Stormfront had a good game?

I loved Bloodwake. Annoyed that it was never made BC.

DA_SHREDDER5099d ago (Edited 5099d ago )

I dont know, maybe cause their good games weren't on console?

Elven65099d ago

Stormfront was only making stuff for consoles mostly,

It might not have helped them much either when a white supremacist group called Stormfront was founded 7 years after the studio was.

The Blue Sky Rangers were the team of five people who first worked on programming games for the then new Intellivision. Don's work isn't a relic of gaming yesteryear though as he has continued being involved with consoles over the years. He's had a hand in games over every generation in gaming - even up to the current PS3 and 360!
