Bungie on Halo 3 Beta secrets

"I wouldn't read too much into any information that people allegedly found buried in the Beta code," reckons Brian Jarrard, Bungie's community top bod. After all, it was only ever a test run. "Anything and everything can and will change," Jarrard informed us after we pinned Bungie down for an in-depth quiz on the recent Halo 3 Beta fallout.

Halo 3 to have plenty of secrets, I mean BETA was just BETA, I think it allowed gamers to read into the game way too much. I feel like people were somewhat disappointed with certain aspects of the game, but then again it was only Multi-Player we were seeing.

If you ask any developer or Video game analyst, they will say the same" Multi-Player will never look as good as the campaign. Just too much going on the screen at once. I can't remember any multi-player game that has looked super, or god as Gears of War campaign. So yeah, I expect halo 3 campaign to look way better. Multi-player is really the icing on the cake. Let's just say we all, will be eating icing for months.

I never read into BETA, like some do, the thing is Bungie now has plenty of feedback which is one of the positives for BETA and it will allow them to make some tweaks and changes. Maybe we all get what we want in the END.

So expect them to update/upgrade for the final game :) and im sure will looks and play good...and if not expected in the final version then it will still be as good

I think it's pretty much assured that the final H3 graphics are far better than has been presented already. Bungie/Microsoft wouldn't show their cards before seeing how good/bad Killzone 2 turns out to be.

The guys at bungie are very sneaky and crafty. I think we will all be very surprised when we see the single player campaign.

of course they do! with Killzone 2 being hyped by media/fanboys and Sony usin alot of effort/time/money on it ect Bungie isnt going to let it slip up quietly ...they won't underestimate, because you just never know...Bungie doesnt think like how your thinkin or else they wouldn't have Halo 2 or 3

a test with pretty good graphics too. high ground and snowbound looked sic in HD, so did the banshee. this test was also written long before the release of the game, so im with you believeing the graphics will own. F8ck YEA LaZER Ownage is the best, ill laser people with goldeneye graphics if i have to lol its that sic.

Bungie loves to create hype.
How about you just be quite, and release some small gameplay snippets. Just a few seconds here and there before the game's launch.
If that doesn't create enough hype, well then, the game can't be all that great.
I hate all the smoke and mirrors, cloak and dagger sh*t surrounding the Halo franchise.
Many other develpers are open and free-speaking about their games and they firmly stand behind their product, not feeling the need to hide much from the public becuase they are ultimately confident in what they are creating.
I just feel like they are afraid that if they give too much information, the public will come to the realization that the game isn't some amazing innovation, and just another FPS. Just my 2 cents, but I really appreciate it when a developer opens its doors to the public like BATHESDA did leading up to the Oblivion launch.
Those short videos that they were releasing on a weekly basis were able to get me more ampred for a game than any whispers on the internet

Bungie already released 3 video documentaries for Halo 3, so you can't say they're not showing anything. We only have a few weeks till the good stuff so a little more patients won't hurt.

will both have great graphics I can asure you. Who knows which will be better. Anyone that states that MS isn't worried or keeping up with what Guerrilla games is doin with KZ2 is kidding themselves. EVERY developer looks at what others are doing to either get ideas or to see how they can further push an idea that a previous developer came up with. I really don't understand why people dont believe that the PS3 isn't capable of the "CGI" trailer that came out in E3 2005. I don't think the animations will be as fluid be the general graphics will be intact. I mean look at Gears of War. That game looks crazy good on a regular T.V., not to mention HD. Given the time and money spent on KZ2 I think it will achieve very close to the target renders. Now on to HALO 3. This game will look amazing. Do you'll really think MS is just going to let their flagship game look just "ok". They know HALO 3 will have to look better than Gears. They know it has to be on par or better than KZ2 graphics. And I know they will achieve. I can't wait to see both though. Especially KZ2 and I don't even own a PS3.lol(I have a 360. But being that I'm a true gamer I will be getting a PS3 soon.)

its funny how waitstation fanboys rip the 360 for being less powerful and inferior to the cell lol, but i think its funny how the 360 has the game everyone references to greatness. when ppl are excited about a game they say its gears and persia mixed, or gears and resident evil. 360 has the best lookin console game thats ever been released so how can they say the 360 is not powerful, and its a second gen game were not even in to the good stuff yet.... wait for the single player, the atmospheric effects are gonna be amazin

The 360 has the best looking game out at the moment, but the PS3 has a lot of power so don't be surprised if that turns around to have the best looking game soon. Just look at FF13 or MGS4. Btw these games are technically first gen games for PS3 and look better than most if not all of the games out for any console so far.

gaffyh I'm not saying this to be funny or anything like that. Just trying to seek knowledge because some people say one thing and others say another. I just want to get some input. I think it depends on what "side of the fence" you are on when a person talks about 1st gen, 2nd gen. Like for instance, if I was an xbot I might say that gears is 1st gen while MGS is not. But if I'm an sonybot then I might say that MGS is 1st gen and since gears is not. I just want to hear someone give me their opinion or maybe a game developer give me fact as to whats what.

id say year one games of a system are 1st gen, then when games like Gears come and make you go "damn thats improvement", those are 2nd gen, then when the quality increases again you get 3rd gen. when the holy s#!@ factor goes up, so does the gen. I.E.- most agree Tenchu Z, recently released, looks at best like a 1st gen 360 game/final gen Xbox 1 game, because it looks bad when compared to Gears, Lost Planet, GRAW 2, games of the 2nd 360 gen.

First gen is usually the Year 1 games or the first round of games for each console. But I think it usually depends on when the developer started developing the game.
