RespawnAction writes: " I am going to come flat out and say this right now. Sony's PS3 is the system for hardcore FPS fans. Their exclusive shooters, Killzone 2 and the upcoming MAG, are two of the best shooters to play. That is of course, you are able to use a small tactic called teamwork. Teamwork is something that is nowhere to be found on Modern Warfare 2..."
MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.
MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.
That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.
I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱
Cultured Vultures: In the spirit of preserving some kind of history of this industry, we’ve decided to list some of the best games that you just simply can’t get hold of digitally at the minute.
I just started playing Spec op. I've had it for years on steam and forgot about it. Such a good game.
Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.
Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.
wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.
Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
Most people screw team work in any game.
If a game focuses on team work, it doesnt go so well since most of the people that i know wanna play as the lone wolf -.-
Well you can cover there back, sure you can. But don't expect the favor to be returned lol.
Was playing uncharted 2 last night, I got killed more covering someone else ass.. But thats why I like parties. Once I had a party rolling, it was all good.
But i do prefer BCBF2 over K2 n MAG for team play. Being able to spawn in on ur squad mate is just plain AWESOME.
The aiming, shooting and movement are all overly simple, making it require little skill. I found the same problem in the MAG beta so I kind of disagree with the article.
In terms of pure gameplay, Killzone 2 beats every other FPS. The level of immersion is unmatched, you don't feel like a floating gun, but like an actual soldier. The weighty feeling of the movement and aiming, the way you can't aim while shooting (like you can in cod) and the way each explosion rocks the screen is just way ahead of all other FPS games. The guns don't feel like they weigh 10 grams, and you move like a person does and can't stop and change direction on a dime.
We need more games like Killzone.
I love how people try and dictate how someone else should play a video game. If you camp your not playing a video game. If you run around the corner (the same corner) and die every 5 seconds hemorrhaging deaths to the other team. You are playing a video game. If you use a specific weapon that I don't like. How dare you.
Give me a break.
People put to much stock in whining as if it is effective. I don't listen to you nor care of your opinion of how I play a video game just like you won't care about my methods. What works for me has been working since the day I popped Ghost recon into my xbox and went on line. I played virtually every FPS spanning xbox to xbox 360. My tactics won't change to accommodate you tomorrow so get over it. Less whining and more playing. Can't take the heat...go play another game.
And yes battle field bad company 2 IS going to be sweet. And when you kids get tank shells landing on your head from across the map...that will be me. Warheads on foreheads.
And 90% of problems with cooperative online play can be solved by a friend joining you. If you don't have any don't be surprised when you get a generic nut job on your team whom style of play clashes with yours. And don't look for realism in a twitch shooter. There is none.
Play what you want, the way you want. But dont moan about others doing the same thing.
This guy speaks the truth about MW2!
