A lot of sites have been giving this a 7. Can we all just agree that it didn't live up to the hype?

dreamcast5330d ago

What hype? I didn't even know this was coming out. I didn't see any GT-flavored Mountain Dew.

But seriously, I don't think PD should've bothered with this. Imagine how much more content would be in GT5 if it had the extra effort.

Blaze9295330d ago

the hype of a game announced when the PSP was originally announced (5+ years).

AnonUser55555330d ago

Dreamcast,

Do you honestly think GT5 has taken a hit because of GT PSP?

Of all the studios I would trust to put out a quality home console project, PD would rank right up there with Kojima and Bungie. I wouldn't worry about GT5 if I were you.

Xbox360 owners said... "Gran TUrismo 5 in its entirety on a portable, if its not that then its a flop!" And here we are. I've never seen a game so 100% accurately reviewed for exactly what it was said to be, yet Polyphonys own words are ignored at time of preview/review in hopes that they some how crammed GT4/5 into a psp.

The sad thing is that the game is 60fps, has 800 vehicles, superb visuals, and oh yea, amazing physics on a PSP game. Which is exactly what PD said they would deliver. And oh yeah, you can unlock cars and transfer them to GT5.

If you were into GT mobile, you would have done a google search, at least once. To see what the game had to offer. You would have known about everything before the reviews, now reviewers are acting like they are shocked its 4 player ad-hoc? We all know this is a proxy battle between gran turismo and games that cant animate spoilers. But give it a rest already. If you review GT mobil and strike against it for not having a campaign i mean whats the point of the review

telling me what games to buy. I decide for myself what games I want to buy. GT PSP is not meant to be a full GT5-experience kind of game. It's on a portable and meant to be played for short amount of time. I'm getting this regardless of the review score. I'll be able to unlock cars for the GT5 when it comes out later on, that alone is worth it for me.

FantasyStar5330d ago (Edited 5330d ago )

I respect your opiniOn. I only hope that you don't try to forcefeeD your opinion to other people on other "certain gameS" out There.

Narutone665330d ago (Edited 5330d ago )

of any other driving simulation for the PSP, so why would I force feed anybody into buying any other driving simulation games for the PSP?

And for your info, I hate FPS.

Close_Second5330d ago

I can now really appreciate why its not getting higher scores. The lack of polish with re: some of the visuals is more than disappointing. To be honest, give me 30fps and more cars on the track as well!

Will probably pick it up when its at a budget price for the PSP.

I'm conflicted about the Gran Turismo PSP criticism.

On one hand, I want to say, "What did you people expect?" It's a portable version of GT. If you want a fully career mode, etc., then play a console version. This is meant to be a portable version of GT just to get your fix when you're on the road (No pun intended).

On the other hand, the PSP is supposed to be technologically superior to the original PSX. And UMDs hold more than a traditional CD (Which the PSX used). Yet, full versions of GT were released on the PSX.

I know there's still limitations that make things hard on the PSP. But when it comes down to it, I feel like the "It's a PSP!" argument just doesn't hold any water.

Close_Second5330d ago

...they should have just released GT2 as a PSN download for the PSP.

AnonUser55555330d ago (Edited 5330d ago )

Yea, that's kinda what I'm thinking here.

Maybe the graphics are significantly worse? I honestly don't remember how those graphics of GT2 looked, much less how they compare to GT PSP. I assume the PSP version looks a lot better, but I just don't think you buy GT PSP for the eyecandy.

So yea, GT2 as a download would probably sell like mad for it's use on the PSP.

I, for one, would sacrifice the graphics to have a complete game. But hey, that's just me.

OK, here's a video showing a lot of GT2 gameplay:

GT PSP is DEFINITELY a lot prettier. But yea, i'd still rather play GT2 on my PSP.

crazyturkey5330d ago (Edited 5330d ago )

The only complaint I actually have is that some of the reviews seem to be reviewing of this game not as a PSP game, but a home console game.

Also does anybody know a better racing game for the PSP, I want to buy a couple by the end of the year, GTPSP is one of them.
