IGN: Darkest of Days Review

IGN writes: "If someone were to casually explain the concept of Darkest of Days, it'd sound like a great experience. You're an unwitting soldier pulled from certain death at the Battle of the Little Bighorn through a time portal by a mysterious futuristic agency called KronoteK. Its chief scientist, Dr. Koell, has gone missing, and it's up to you to track him down and right some of the aberrations that have been appearing throughout history. If left unchecked, the aberrations could cause potentially disastrous consequences or perhaps even Simpsons-style doughnut rain. The benefit of the B-movie sci-fi plot setup? You can use futuristic weaponry to wipe out armies from ages past. While Darkest of Days does let you fulfill this fantasy – you will, for instance, fight American Civil War-era soldiers with assault rifles – it does little else but annoy and confuse".

x360 is the home of flops.

Chubear5343d ago

Damn, all year it's been like this. If not for that halo RTS it would have been a land slide for mediocre and horribly rated exclusive 360 games.

All the 360fans can rely on are the same multiplat games that the PS3 base also enjoy. Crazy, I have no clue how you can keep throwing money at such a company.

So, essentially, the 360 fanbase has to wait 'till the end of the year b4 they have hope of a decent exclusive and little to nothing that doesn't have the name halo, gears, fable attached to it. Kinda sad... oh well, Demon Souls & Uncharted here I come. Thank you KZ2, Infamous & others for keeping me going through the year. See you all next year XD

The title of the game sums up this entire year for the 360. Please jump out and play beyond.

Bad game's worse version on the 360

Marquis_de_Sade5342d ago

I guess this will be classed as a 360 exclusive seeing as it received a low score.

jjohan355343d ago

3.6? Ouch that's gotta hurt. I didn't know scores could go that low.

jjohan355343d ago

LOL how did I get a disagree? Because 3.6 score truly isn't bad? HAHA.

umair_s515343d ago

I don't know why they slammed the game in the graphics and sound departments. I mean the game has okay graphics and sound, why give it poor score in that department?

It's true in some cases. Why do you think Home Town Buffet is still in business?

Backlog Quest: Day 17 – Darkest of Days – Best if read in Arnold voice | Clearance Bin Review

Backlog Quest is a month long special event on Clearance Bin Review featuring daily game reviews of the games that have sat on the shelf for simply too long; old and new.

From Day 17 – Darkest of Days, Tristan Rendo writes, "I’d be a bold face liar if I said I hadn’t ever though about time traveling back to the days of ancient Rome with an assault rifle. Where my advanced weaponry would make me king. Darkest of Days finally let me live out this brief, sociopathic fantasy if but for a fleeting moment; and that is all that counts right?

Well, not really, but it is still kind of cool."

Game Revolution: Darkest of Days Review

Game Revolution writes: "If you're looking for a game that has you shooting Civil War survivors, WWI veterans, Roman infantry, and while we're at it, some Native Americans (which is half of my heritage... I shot my peoples!), then boy, do I have a game for you. Darkest of Days puts you in the shoes of a Civil War soldier that fought in the battle of Little Bighorn or Custard's Last Stand. At the last minute before your unfailing doom, you are rescued by a Spartan that pulls you into a womb-like object that sends you hurling through time and space. You reach your final destination in a waiting room from hell to be greeted by the stroke patient that is your supposed time partner and a visual user interface with creepy eyes and a fake pompous-ass British accent."
