IGN: Quake Arena Arcade XBLA First Details

Earlier today at QuakeCon, id revealed two rather big surprises that will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade rather soon. One of these was the announcement of Quake Arena Arcade, which was a surprise for many attendees of the show. While still in development, IGN managed to get some additional details about the upcoming downloadable title.

This should be cool, I used to play this game till my eyes would bleed, hope its cheap.

N4GAddict5373d ago

Great game. I hope it will be cheap too.

I think I have enough reasons for XBL sub now. Quake III, Doom II, Duke 3D online and Serious Sam HD. Yep, I gotta get a sub this year now. All left I'd like would be Powerstone.

IaMs125373d ago

Whoa wait.. Doom II is finally coming to XBLA? Oh that would be sweet, i think its tons better then the first game. And im excited about this and Serious Sam HD too

Cajun Chicken5373d ago

Yeah, it's on another story, shown at Quakecon too.

NB
Don't need gold to use the marketplace to buy these games.

Sonyslave35373d ago

Damn XBL getting all the classics i can't wait for Perfect Dark

N4GAddict5373d ago

When is PD coming out anyway?

360r0x0rz5373d ago

Yep youre sure right XBLA has all the good games while psn has what........ a fat old hag? hahahahahahahaha what a joke, the psn is a pile of crap. I tried using it once and the only game that interested me was the delete button because everything was so craph hahahahahahahaha

but of course stupid sony droids say 'yeah its free' well you get what you paid for... i cant help it if you are poor and cant afford xbl... thats your fault!!! hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahah ahahahhhhhhh

Thoreau5373d ago

micro just made me buy an xbl gold membership, cause i love quake arena.

pacowles5373d ago

If this doesn't hit PSN (which from the sound of it, it won't), I might have to finally break down and get a gold membership. Q3A is by far my favorite multiplayer FPS of all time.

edhe5373d ago

Shame.

UT was so much better. :)

shutupandplay5373d ago

XBLA > PSN arcade. There is absolutely no getting around this.

Montrealien5373d ago

XBLA = PSN

There is not way of getting around this, unless you are a retarded fantart that is...

Just buy GOTY edition for Fallout 3 and TES4.
The horse armor isn't worth it.

I would just wait for Fallout NV, goty( I don't know if NV got and goty award) or w/e edition come out.

saladthieves4592d ago

That's usually the smart thing to do. Wait for a GOTY edition with all DLC to come out, then buy the pack.

The problem some people have however, is the waiting game.

GirlsGeneration4592d ago (Edited 4592d ago )

lol That pic, I remember when that horse armor DLC came out in 2006 good times lol horse armor FTW! = )

MasterD9194592d ago (Edited 4592d ago )

What other Fallout:NV packs are worth it besides Old World Blues?

I didn't see any other DLC packs get that much praise.

GoGamingGiant: Quake Arena Arcade Review

Excerpt from article...

"Playing and reviewing remade games is a precious process. On a base level, the way we view this game should be no different than how we view Quake 3 Arena. However, the goal of a reviewer is to determine if it is valuable for consumers to purchase the game."

I was shocked to see this on xbox live tbh, it very nonchalantly came out of nowhere with no fanfair whatsoever, like the review said though, why bother when a superior and free version is already available on the pc, sad really for such a classic.

Murgatroyd74810d ago

Never was a fan of these games. Even back when they were new, they never provided me with much fun, and they feel especially dated now that we have such superior alternatives.

omicron0094810d ago

oh quake arena, we had some good times :)

RaymondM4809d ago

man, i remember quake being a blockbuster game that would stop people in their tracks. Now it gets barely any notice today

PlayDevil: Quake Arena Arcade Review

PlayDevil has posted a review of the recently released "Quake Arena Arcade" for Xbox Live Arcade.

Here's more:
