Looking very sweet out this FALL!

bujasem_895482d ago

i definitely am a sony fan and everything i love what they acomplished so far just everything they have proven worthy but ppl just might not understand how unblievably annoying it is having a sliding psp it really really is so very very annoying to unblievably lingths i bought the normal psp then sold it and got the slim i play psp alot finished most of its strong games i am telling u this can have a major down slide cause of the sliding it really is uncomfortable u just cant press the buttons u want when its fast pase pls agree or disagree with me tht's how i feel

Saren Arterius5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

This handheld looks absolutely atrocious.

1. Horrible layout. Check
2. Smaller screen. Check
3. Stick next to the DPAD (lol wtf). Check
4. No UMD support. Check

I knew that Sony was dumb, but not THAT dumb. Do they actually think that with this and a few, small games that only appeal to an extremely small group of evangelists(LBP, MGS) are going to steal the market from Nintendo and Apple?

Please don't make me laugh.

gamesmaster5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

apple? small games?

"i knew that sony was dumb"

..dumb enough to sell 50 mil PSP's?

PotNoodle5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

Shh, i'll be buying it.

And what is in this post that isn't in all the other 200 posts that were submitted to N4G within the last few hours? I see nothing new in there.

XxSpiiKeZxX5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

The only issue with me is no dual anolog stick
i feel like the start/select area was meant for a second one but didnt implement it...WHY????

All SONY has to do is make a psp that has dual analog i mean imagine having games like Modern Warfare, KZ2, etc. the only thing the psp lacks is FPS b/c it suks using the buttons

Now i like the whole slide and bluetooth feature alot but the analog is in an awkward position and so is start/select.
it couldve been easily moved to the bottom of screen but hey at least we knoe what direction sony is taking with psp

Ill get myself a new psp WHEN there is a second analog otherwise itll just be the same and i hope tey solved the piracy prob. b/c it would drive away devs

if only sony were smart and suported the homebrew community

EDIT: @ below
yea thats y i said that sony shouldve supported the homebrew community where u get all the features of a hacked psp minus the ability to hack games if that was the beginning then u wouldnt see so many piracy

Saren Arterius5483d ago

50 millions of users who buy that thing just to hack it and play PS1 and SNES games.

You failed my friend.

Masta_fro5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

yea?
so what if they buy just to hack it...

i did the same with my ipod touch...

it is you who fails my friend, and I thinks the psp go looks awesome, but that is just my opinion.

And do you seriously think a new (note the caps)METAL GEAR game, LBP, and GRAND TURISMO wont matter ???

well, think again.

gamesmaster5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

*sigh* how did i fail buy giving my opinion?

for a start, assuming apple has a larger hold on the hand held gaming market than Sony's psp. is instant fail.

50 million pirates?

"please don't make me laugh"

EDIT: 30 million xbox360 users bought the console to hack it too right? ...wrong

Sev5483d ago

@ whoelse,

I met Veronica last year at E3, snapped a few pics with her. She is actually kind of plain looking.

Argento-Nox5483d ago

@Saren Arterius

Your missing the point of the PSP go. It's supposed to be a size closer to the iphone so you can fit it in your pocket when your on the move. LBP and MGS may not sell hardware, but if Gran Turismo is put on the PSP, it probably would move units.

PS3 FanBaby5483d ago

That POS is ugly than the DSi! The graphics appear to be that of the Sega GameGear ROFL! Sony should stop making systems and turn into a developer like Sega since they clearly don't know how to make attractive devices.

Sitdown5482d ago

why is 50 million being tossed around? This unit (PSP Go) has not sold 50 million, so there is still time for Sony to come out looking dumb.

rockleex5482d ago (Edited 5482d ago )

If you can sign up for a 3G service with the PSP Go.

Imagine being able to play Monster Hunter with 4 other players online no matter where you are!

No need to find WiFi areas anymore! ^_^

Come on Sony! Combine your efforts and make a PSP Phone with Sony Ericsson.

shadow27975482d ago (Edited 5482d ago )

Why are people complaining about the analog nub placement? Granted, I haven't actually held it, but it looks to be in a better position than the nub on current models, closer to where the stick is on a DualShock.

I'll have to wait and hold it myself, but I'm planning on buying one of these when it comes out. I'm just hoping it's cheaper than the current PSP. And you can bet that if these things are cheap, they will sell.

BattleAxe5482d ago

Glad to hear that the PSP Go isn't replacing the PSP-3000 and that Sony is going to continue to support UMD.

njr5482d ago

Some people just don't get it. This release of the PSP is going to co-exist with the PSP-3000. If you can't get your gaming releases online for some reason, you get the PSP-3000. This is for those who will go for digital distribution all the way. Please don't give the "DD will fail if its not Apple or Nintendo" crap either.

Harri44445482d ago (Edited 5482d ago )

your fanboyism has blinded you. this little pockets sized system has 16GBz in it.

f7897905482d ago

This transition is as different as the gba to gba sp.

Also they took off .5" from the screen. What the heck Sony?! I like the big screen. Screw people who complain about battery life. I bought a second battery which I only need once a year when I go on vacation. The rest of the year, I have it set to a pandora in case I brick my PSP.

bjornbear5482d ago

It doesn't look bad at all, its quite a sweet design. I understand its a matter of opinion, but finishing industrial design BA, i've been exposed to a lot of products (ugly and beautiful) and i must say, its not atrocious, thats just being harsh =P.

And 50 mil tht bought the PSP didn't hack it, about 5% if not less hacked it, so don't go off making stuff up.

I do doubt the success of this...it wont flop, but i dno hw it'll work against the DSi and iPhone...however, considering its the 3rd competitor, it'll b cool =)

Lifewish5483d ago

it looks fine.. i think it looks like a great device and better than the past PSP devices.. it looks slick

REbirth5482d ago (Edited 5482d ago )

looks much better than the original very nice design...i just dont like the no umd support:( all digital?im still too old school to not have a phisical format!

DoucheVader5483d ago

No big deal, Resistance Retribution pulls off fine shooting action without another analog.

StanLee5483d ago

Since titles will be distributed digitally, are older titles going to be made available for digital release and would I have to repurchase my old PSP games if I choose to buy the PSP Go? Really, they just redesigned the PSP. I just bought a new one. This makes no sense. I really believe now the PS3 Slim is real.

XxSpiiKeZxX5483d ago

maybe thats what they meant bout keeping psp 3000 and GO together in the market
makes sense the guy said those who want harcopies go to 3000 while digital goes to GO

StanLee5483d ago (Edited 5483d ago )

Still makes little sense. If you're going to introduce a new SKU make sure you don't alienate the current fan base. That's like releasing a PS3 without blu ray, new adopters wouldn't be able to play the older titles. This has been my biggest problem with Sony of late; too many SKUs. Fans don't know what's current and what current hardware offers and how it differs from older SKUs. This was not necessary and wont stop piracy which is what they're hoping.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Cacabunga23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow24d ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo18223d ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie23d ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

ApocalypseShadow23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Totally ridiculous comment.

The only exclusivity Sony had was to their own creation of The Show. Microsoft could have paid the MLB for the license just like Sony did and made their own baseball game.

Microsoft instead, groomed MLB for years in trying to poach Sony's game and bring it to Xbox. They're worth 3 TRILLION dollars. You think that's not enough money to make their own baseball game? Don't be delusional.

Microsoft spun it like they always do and told the media that they had to trust Sony with their hardware. After they put Sony in that position of not having a choice. Either go multiplatform or stop making one of their successful games. That's a no win scenario.

And what did Microsoft do? They didn't try to sell the game to the Xbox community. They put it on game pass to hurt Sony. Pushing the idea of why buy games that are $70 when you can play them in their cheap service for $10. It was a dirty tactic.

You fell for the Kool aid drink Microsoft served you instead of spitting it out. Hope it tasted good because you were fooled by Phil and the gang.

Xbox executive Sara Bond has told Axios that Microsoft spent a number of years trying to get MLB The Show onto Xbox consoles. And when it finally succeeded in breaking off PlayStation’s long-held exclusivity, the company had to “trust” Sony with pre-release Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Bond revealed that MLB The Show “always came up” in conversations between Microsoft and the Major League Baseball organization. “We always said, ‘We love this game. It would be a huge opportunity to bring it to Xbox.'” she recalled. However, when Microsoft’s efforts materialized, it put the company in an awkward situation where it had to send in pre-release consoles to a rival company.

Lying to yourself is unbecoming.

Article link tells you all you need to know in Sarah Bond's own words.

Hereandthere23d ago

They were too cheap/inept/lazy to develop their own mlb game, so they port begged for years and bribed the mlb to make the show multiplatform. Like i said many times, xbox brought nothing to the table their 24 years, ZERO.

ApocalypseShadow22d ago

At least you and others get it. Note drank the Kool aid and asked for seconds thinking it was refreshing.

Most don't even know how it all played out but it's there in black and white for all to see. Microsoft brought it up for years until the MLB forced Sony's hand. It was a win win for Microsoft. Kill one reason to buy a PlayStation or kill the game by dropping it in a cheap service to kill Sony's sales numbers on PlayStation.

OtterX24d ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Cockney22d ago

They chose well, Sony gave them the backing to pursue their dreams with no restrictions even tho their games especially dreams have very niche appeal. Media molecule and Sony deserve respect for this in an age of risk averse publishing.

RNTody24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno23d ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno23d ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.

23d ago
fsfsxii23d ago

They shutdown the servers because no one was playing, no one in the community cared about the user created levels so why keep them up? Wtf you guys would never succeed in running a business.

Inverno23d ago

Yea dood no one was playing so they shut off the servers. Cause people with enough common sense can't just Google why they were actually shut of, right?
