Space Invaders was a simple concept really, even with respect to the archaic machines of the late 70's (yes, 70's as in the same epoch that brought us disco). Aliens are, well, invading by methodically moving toward your spaceship. Strategically placed shields help, but the sheer number of invaders means that you had better be handy with the steel. Yea, it's a semi-automatic pea shooter, but it can down an alien, and the occasional UFO, with ease, as long as the captain possesses a steady hand and a fistful of quarters."
