XboxGameZone: R-Type Dimensions Review

XboxGameZone writes: "Back in the day - that's a phrase you'll hear more than once in this review - there was a genre of game that was fiendishly difficult and devilishly addictive. The genre gave birth to a fair few of the massive about of sub-genres that we take for granted today, and battles for survival to this day.

That genre was the shoot-'em-up, and back in the day (there you go) R-Type was the king. It provided sweat-inducing enemy patterns, cuss-inducing difficulty levels and a mixture of robotic and organic enemy styles that were smile-inducing. Did I mention the difficulty level? That was empty-wallet-inducing. I'll stop saying that word now" (R-Type Dimensions, R-Type XBLA, Xbox 360) -
