Both of them support, yet to be released AM3 as well as the AM2+ processors and with AM3 comes DDR3 support. Boards also have MSI's Active Phase Switching (APS) power-saving technology.
The 790FX-GD70 is based on AMD's 790FX chipset paired up with an SB750 southbridge, has four PCI-Express x16 slots and it can work in two times 16 or four times 8 mode. Other noted specifications include support for dual-channel DDR3 1333 with up to 16GB in four slots, MSI's DrMOS, dual Gigabit LAN, integrated 7.1-channel audio, eight SATAII and one eSATA port, twelve USB 2.0 and a singe FireWire port."
