Lol there is literally weapon customization in the first game and I believe it's been stated that it will return. This article is moot.

They Nerfed my 2 new favorites!! The quasar cannon and sickle! Oh well, time to test a new primary and support guns combo.
I never used it when I first started because I always started a mission away from objectives and by the time I started fighting I found tons of ammo already and was usually fullly stocked by the time I made my way towards objectives.
