did they optimize the gameplay and side characters?

Snookies12231d ago

No need, it's really good. You should actually play it, lol.

Lil on the easy side but yes indeed it was a really good game. I'll go back to it to get that platinum, definitely. On hard difficulty* lol

MeteorPanda231d ago

l did and l hated it. Wheres the status effects? The party member conversations.

It was so dribble. You get to the end game and its monsters in blue. The whole build up to Odin falls flat on it's face.

The side characters just don't exist. The world building is great but the interaction is soo bland how many times do you hear "we're doing the right thing! No one should be slaves!"

No country retailiates to basically having their governent and energy resource destroyed. Not a single country gave a f besides Titan. Explain why phoenix had to absorb ultima?

Oh and its another "we kill God" basic story....not lets reform the nation, re assimilate slaves, work on the corruption happening..no. Lets kill God.

No. The game is rushed as heck in it's story telling and the demo was the most polished thing about it.

MrNinosan231d ago

Why would they, when the gameplay and "side characters" are excellent?

AdonisIsBeast231d ago

Ending made me cry, but the game was not very good besides the awesome character designs. No sense of discovery and exploration, no RPG progression/systems. Was just a linear action game

I get tired of the same hash about this game. It’s a really good title. Most the people complaining are not the ones who played it. “It’s not a true JRPG”, got it.. it’s an action RPG and does it well. Gameplay was fun, and the story was arguably probably one of finest I’ve seen in a while in a Final Fantasy title.. nothing really bad whatsoever.
Some side missions may have gotten a little redundant like other Final Fantasy games. But it’s a fine piece in my collection of games.

Well I hope this does well on the PC so we can see more content in the future.. I hope they optimize it well.. some of the other titles that PlayStation games release don’t play well and are buggy and hopefully that’s not the case with this game.

The best thing about the PC version will be a mod that gets rid of that disgusting purple filter that happens after a certain point in the story, and never goes away. Ruined the entire atmosphere of the game.

Offense Is The Best Defense: In Admiration Of Final Fantasy XVI’s Combat System

Shaz from GL: "FFXVI contentiously rid the series' turn-based origins in favour of character-action. The result? A spectacularly fun system that rewards offense."

So much hassle people had for FF16 performance on PS5 to hit PC and still be barely playable. FF16 is hitting the crysis “can it run it” for PCs.

And now I’m genuinely wondering is it because the devs failed to properly design the game or is it because it is over ambitious.

Too many variances in the PC ecosystem. They can attempt to optimize to a point but ultimately, as it is in most cases, individuals will have to tweak settings to get their rig to run the game at its subjective best. Me personally, I enjoy a no fuss console experience but must admit I'm getting into the simplistic steam deck tweaks.

that's just nonsense, square is just bad at ports and have been for years. Japanese ports were notorious for it a good while, but it has gotten better but still nothing to write home about. Take FF7R pt1 for example, at launch on pc there were frequent random fps drops for no reason and a guy, a single guy got a patch out within 2 days that fixed it, if that doesn't say enough about their incompetency with pc ports then idk.

I don't know how people are getting such poor performance. It ran well for me +60fps at 1440p dlss balanced, all high settings. I'm on a i7-8700, 32gb ram, and 3080, so a pretty old setup. I get very few stutters, and it's buttery smooth if i cut the shadows down to medium settings. cut scenes have been modded to run at 60fps.

It's sitting at "mostly positive reviews' on steam. With most of the complaints coming from those with said poor performance. By absolutely no means is this a perfect / great port, but it's not god awful. Seems like it's a hardware issue on the customers end, and issues with the port itself.

This is talking about proton tho. It's expected for games to run poorly because they aren't natively running on Linux. I will agree however that Square has a history of putting out horribly running games on PC.

Hofstaderman21d ago

The game was optimized specifically for the PS5 and even so it makes that console creak....wonder how the Pro will handle it....

Hoping very much that it gets some "Pro Enhanced" attention.

Final Fantasy 16 PC Review | Everyone Gaming

As a lifelong Final Fantasy fan, I’ve fought against seemingly impossible odds and collected more Phoenix Downs than I’d like to admit. In fact, I think I have spent more time as Cloud and Squall than I have as myself. Not that it wasn’t expected, but the PC port kind of came from nowhere. Square Enix announced a Final Fantasy 16 PC port that mirrors the PlayStation 5 version. Naturally, as a series veteran, my excitement levels were through the roof.
