Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Trailers Pulled From YouTube

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake's trailers have been pulled from official PlayStation channels.

R.I.P.? So sad, if it's actually getting cancelled after switching developers... This has always been one of my most wanted remakes in all of gaming. Been wanting a remake for Knights of the Old Republic for so damn long.

I read somewhere it was due to music licensing but I honestly feel it’s more than that. Things aren’t looking good with the devs switching and now this.

Hopefully they surprise us all and deliver a new trailer but i will be disappointed if a remake to one of the greatest SW games of all time gets canned.

As a gamer you should not be living on hope. This is why I avoided the XBone. This is poor planning and perhaps even a bit of arrogance. Sony shut down their Japan studios which can plug some gaps. Spider-Man is not really of much interest to me (I think the games are high quality just not my thing).

They also are doing this to VR owners. Who have the sum total of nothing to look ahead to.

We (psvr2 owners) have a lot to look forward to. Just not any big sony titles. Personally very excited for Bulletstorm and that Vampire Masquerade immersive sim game.

While I do agree that Sony has been unusually quiet, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is in February. So there is another big title after Spider-Man 2.

And Death Stranding 2 later in the year, maybe even a Wolverine and a Silent Hill 2. But they are very quiet and don't seem to provide us much in the first party department. I remember they teased that they had 21 games that we didn't know about, buy nothing ever really happened.

Like, we're 3 years into the generation. I get the criticism of Sony being quiet, but don't bandwagon and act like there have been no games. It's ridiculous.

Even though it's third party, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth can only be played on PS5 for the time being so...it counts buddy. May not be a Sony game but it's a PS5 game.

And the PS5 keeps selling like water in the desert. I wonder how they keep doing it? How do consoles sell like this without any games to play on it?

It's not enough but when you add in FF7, Helldivers, Death Stranding 2, Wolverine, Kotor (which is not canceled), Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Concord, and FairGame$ on top of Spider-Man 2 and other third party exclusives, their is no real drought in sight.

Besides the Sony made game from that list you want more and you will be getting it. Honestly I would prefer them to get out their already announced games before announcing the next set.

In my ideal world, games would be announced and released in a similar time frame to the newest Bayonetta.

I mean, sure, if you remove even third-party exclusives there is no game drought. There's a ton of games coming out in general. I guess that means we just ignore the lack of first-party as long as we have any games to play. An interesting redirect from the community I'm seeing here.

Not so much a redirect as I feel that I have been pretty consistent with my view of new announcements. Thats why I referenced the Beyonetta launch only a couple of months after reveal. Allow me to give some context:

From SIE we have 5 announced games from their studios that don't have ANY gameplay. They are:
Wolverine, FairGame$, Concord, and Marathon, Factions.

This frustrates me. Why would I get excited about new announcements when the are 5 games without any gameplay shown off yet. You keep announcing more games and it feels like a backlog in its own right. Get those other games out first or at least show some gameplay with hypothetical release dates.

For me as a gamer, I don't want to be teased 2 years in advance. I don't know why people are so obsessed with other first party studios. I can't play announcements and I don't want to sit and wait forever, Do like Nintendo or even Microsoft with their shadow drops and I would be much happier.

I have been very consistent with my thoughts on this and I claim that position even though I know it isn't the most popular view.

The sad part is that it isn't even that hard to simply remake a game with modern graphics. Look to the Demon Souls remake or Halo 1 & 2 remakes for an example, and there are many others. They clearly wanted to change the game, couldn't agree on the changes, so it got canned. What an idiotic handling of a straight forward task.

Except Embracer had their earnings report literally two or three days ago, and they still list the game in active development. Anyone can literally google that. There are games they had announced as in development that are not listed there anymore. When asked directly about the game, they said "No comment." I honestly think that until we hear an official announcement, we should take everything with a grain of salt, good and bad. Jeff Grubb isn't always right about everything.

However, he still might be. Whether it's truly been cancelled or not, the way that Embracer has treated this whole project has been terrible. KOTOR deserved more respect than this, and if they truly did cancel it I hope Lucasgames or whatever they're called now can give a deserving studio a shot at remaking it. I would still like KOTOR 3 more, but I'll take whatever KOTOR I can get at this point.
