I clearly need to optimize my settings, as I can't get remotely close to even a bronze medal in the 'easiest' race.

SullysCigar450d ago

I'm about to attempt an 'oar mod', so I'll let you know if that helps my times. I need to think it through, so I don't just fling a Sense controller at the roof off the end of a stick!

SullysCigar450d ago

I can't believe they didn't go all-in on this review title and go for 'oar-inspiring' rather than just imply it. I guess they're not as shameless as me!

This looks amazing - I wish i could handle VR without the nausea effect. I would buy a PSV2 in a heartbeat

YodaCracker449d ago

This game looked nowhere near as impressive as I was expecting and the nausea hit hard. Really enjoying GT7 though and not a tinge of nausea with that, even after a 2 hour session.

I agree with the getting sick. Almost no probs in other games this one makes me sick in 5 minutes. I have a a lot of real world kayak experience, so I don't know what it is about this game.

The 7 Best PSVR 2 Games to Play While Sitting Down, Ranked

The best PSVR 2 games to play while sitting down don't usually require much movement or put players in a vehicle that does most of the heavy lifting.

Although the majority of PSVR 2 games support both seated and standing positions, the latter may not always be an option for some players. Sony's latest virtual reality headset has those players covered, with the hardware boasting plenty of great games that can be enjoyed while sitting down.

Lol I never play standing for any game.

FortWaba396d ago

Pavlov is kind of awkward while sitting. Reloading requires reaching at an angle that's just not exactly ergonomic unles you're standing.

HeliosHex396d ago

@fortwaba. Oh no I totally get it. When iam playing walking dead its awkward putting my weapons away, reaching for backpack etc. Iam just a lazy gamer lol.

SullysCigar396d ago

I heard a guy the other day saying that he sits on a stool so that he can still reach down if needs be. I thought that was a pretty good idea.

I prefer just to stand for most games and just play for shorter periods if I'm knackered, but that's not an option for everyone. I do like to slob on the sofa in VR and play Puzzling Places or Demeo.

Leeroyw396d ago

I just want to play AAA and AA titles sitting down in VR. Sometimes I wonder if I'm in the minority. I don't really want to act out everything.

Viljong396d ago

Missed switchback. Is ment to be played sitting but upper body movement required. Walking dead is stand up game. I only sit when back to restin place camp. Pavlov is best for room scale, there is no crouch button so you need to take cover and get down yourself which is great.

PSVR 2 got my mum into gaming for the first time

TechRadar: VR offers astonishing immersion that has the potential to ground you in some truly fascinating locales. Nothing did more to remind me of that than when my mum tried out PSVR 2 for the first time.

It may sound a bit cliche to those more familiar with VR, but she told me she genuinely felt like she was really there. There’s clearly something very special going on here, especially for those who’re new to VR, or even games in general.

Man, that game's shaping up nicely!

I've had may family playing and loving VR for years. It really appeals to people of all ages.

SullysCigar404d ago

Always good fun sticking the headset on an oldie and watching them react! I had my neighbour screaming playing Ocean Decent, my father-in-law fell off the sofa playing Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and my mother in tears playing Allumette AND now Kayak VR Mirage too (it was seeing a giant turtle making it's way down the beach and then slowly swimming off into the sea that got her).

Kayak VR Mirage Review: A Calming Experience That Shows What PSVR 2 Has To Offer | Ginx

Your one-way ticket to paradise.

When you think of VR games what do you usually picture? Manic shooters? Rhythm-based games? Something that will scare the pants off you? Well, Kayak VR: Mirage couldn't be further from these, and is one of the best titles on the PSVR 2.

This game is theraputic, and when I let my non-gamer family members try it, they take to it immediately, as the controls are just, natural... then they are taken in awe of the realistic, peaceful, relaxing visuals and audio... My sister is hooked on it, begging me to come play it all the time now. My (and their) only wish at this point is the ability to step out of the kayak onto land and explore, and also to scuba dive.
