The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Collectors Edition is a Downgrade

Tears of the Kingdom has a great Collector's Edition, though gamers had a better deal with Breath of the Wild which featured a Master Sword statue.

Breath of the Wild had 2 exclusive versions though, the Collectors and the Master. This one is very much in line with the Collectors of the first game.

Nintendo sadly never go all in with their special editions

They could make an expensive Zelda collectors edition with a high end replica shield and we’d all it up like crazy

I’m gutted the Metroid Prime remaster doesn't have a special edition or something

Nyxus460d ago

I decided to skip it because it's really overpriced for what you get. At least in Europe, don't know about the pricing in other regions. I'll just get the regular edition.

Neonridr460d ago

it's hard to justify double the price for a pin set, a steelbook, a poster and an artbook.

Nyxus460d ago

Yeah, especially compared to other collector's editions. Usually CEs of that caliber cost around 90 - 100 at most.

septemberindecember459d ago

Yeah, I like steel books but definitely not for this price. I'm just going with the basic.

Flakegriffin459d ago

Agreed Nyxus. It’s $130, if I’m not mistaken, here in the states. Kinda steep price for just a steel case, game, art book, and pins. I’ll most likely skip it and get the base game unless they announce a Master Edition with a cool statue or a Switch OLED Zelda ToK Limited Edition.

Nyxus459d ago

Yeah it's 130 euros here, but some shops actually charge 150.

Flakegriffin459d ago

Didn’t BOTW have two? Wasn’t the collectors edition on BOTW just a map, coin, switch case, and the game? Pretty on-par with this collectors.

XxINFERNUSxX459d ago

It's shit, made in China. For that price what should have been included was a die cast metal statue of Link, a huge cloth map, poster, amiibo, and a free code for DLC, which we all know will be coming in the future that would be worth $130

Yesterday I was playing and there was a puzzle with two gears, (one moving and one stationary) and I couldn’t figure out how to get the stationary gear moving .

I took my spear and stuck it against moving gear and it transferred the motion to the stationary gear and that solved the puzzle.

I was so shocked I went online to see what was the intended way to solve this and I didn’t see anyone solve it quite the way I did (from the few videos I watched).

I definitely believe that this “intuitive” gameplay is the future of game design.

ZeekQuattro7d ago

Indeed. The number of puzzles I solved thinking this will never work surprised me. One puzzle had me wanting to pull my hair out though. It was one of the jet rail puzzles. I looked up tips and one solution was as simple as creating a box and draping it over the rail and riding that across as you stood in the middle of it. I was done. 🤣

FinalFantasyFanatic7d ago

I'm dumb AF when it comes to this game, I tend to over complicate the solution, but some of the things people come up with is brillant, people are making missiles systems, mechs, tanks, etc...

antikbaka7d ago

i stll believe that it's inferior to the first part

FinalFantasyFanatic7d ago

ToTK would have been amazing to me if the first part either didn't exist, or I never played BotW. Part of my issue is feeling like I've done all this before and TotK feels like a 1.5 version of BotW, Totk temples and puzzles were better than the first game though.

lucian2297d ago

literally this; though temples and puzzles were pretty bad in botw too

H97d ago

The gameplay loop is one of the best ever

lucian2297d ago

got bored in 3 hours; felt like i was playing the same exact game as Botw; and when my brother told me he doesnt learn even one new slash, i lost all motivation to play. Tired of fighting goblins with the same old attacks, even though i loved BOTW, this kinda rehash lazy gameplay isnt good, and no just adding some gadgets isn't enough

I been finishing this up, had plenty of backlog I caught up on recently finished robocop, ac mirage, ac valhalla, spiderman 2, metro exodus all were so mf fun definitely still enjoying this
