This probably wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Switch. A game this huge would be limited on the PS5 or Xbox. To much focus on high res textures and fancy bells and whistles to get this thing complete in a timely manner. The switch actually handles this much better than expected.

''The switch actually handles this much better than expected.''

That exactly is the limit of this game.

It's potential is unfulfilled.

@brewin What's sad is XC3 would look and run better on a 9 year old ps4

Spenok632d ago

This is one of the most naive statements I've ever read.

gleepot633d ago

not really, was a masterful game as is

gleepot633d ago

also, the switch has a much larger install base than that of the ps5 or series x

Nintendo is what made it happen. Are you 12 or 13?

The franchise wouldn’t exist without Nintendo

Whats crazy to me is that this game is so absolutely huge and stunningly beautiful, yet it only uses about 13gb of data 😳 that is absolutely astounding. I have ps5 and Xbox Series X and majority of games there are 50gb minimum for games a 1/4 of the size. This voodoo is crazy! How Nintendo cram so much into such a small amount of data?! The game does not suffer from not having high resolution textures either, things looks pretty crisp. I guess the art direction really makes a huge difference. Even Tales of Arise on Xbox uses close to 100GB and this looks pretty close to that.

The reason Switch games are so small is because they compress the HELL out of them, while many games on PS5/XSX don't compress nearly as much, and in some cases don't at all. Which makes for higher quality assets in the end, and faster loading of said assets.
