Microsoft and 35 US states stand behind Fortnite developers in their epic battle against tech giant.
PlayStation x PUMA orders open April 18, 2024, Priced between $100 - $120!
Microsoft just posted the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal financial results. The software maker made $61.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $21.9 billion during Q3. Revenue is up 17 percent, and net income has increased by 20 percent.
Xbox content + services up 62% while hardware down 31%... seems about right with the way they tout you don't need the hardware to play. People can play on their phones or smart tv or other means. I don't hardly play on my consoles directly since getting devices like the logitech g-cloud and ps portal. Which is to also say I have been playing more digital than physical because of these devices.
Too expensive hardware when others offer the same or more for less? Good work, Green Team.
"Despite some early successes for Xbox games on rival platforms, Xbox hardware is down by a massive 31 percent this quarter."
"Without Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue would have actually declined this quarter."
"Xbox content and services would have only been up a single percent without Activision Blizzard..."
"It looks like next quarter is going to be a similar story for gaming at Microsoft, too."
That is crazy... so A/B/K is carrying the whole Xbox gaming.
Oh and Microsoft will be fine. Windows, Office and Cloud are growing with each pc purchase.
PSLS writes: I have traveled across the country using the Razer Kishi Ultra in airports and hotels for both PlayStation Remote Play and mobile gaming in general, and I am thoroughly impressed.
I told you guys in previous threads Microsoft and SONY are not competing. Them buying up all the Gaming Publishers and Studios is about keeping companies like Apple, Amazon ect... Out of the video business. They are doing everything in their power to hurt Apple.
Microsoft is just looking to profit off of Apple losing the court case because they were prevented in putting their service on Apple's platform like they wanted just like Epic was guilty in trying to go around Apple's policy. Apple's phone, while successful, is not a utility. Microsoft is just as guilty of trying to lock others out of their platform or games by buying up publishers. If they weren't, they'd have PS Plus or Now and Nintendo's service on Xbox without having Nintendo or Sony having to pay royalties to Microsoft. And all the publishers and developer's games Microsoft bought would be multiplatform.
It's hard to say if it's a good idea or not to try to lock other companies out your platform. But it's your platform. Not saying I'm for Apple or Google or Amazon or whomever. But let's look at this differently because it's all tied together with different forms of lock outs.
Nintendo tried to lock competitors interested in competition in getting into the game industry with policies put forth back then to keep third parties from making games on others platforms like Sega. What if Nintendo bought up third party developers back then? Crazy right? But Sega wasn't trying to make games for Nintendo. They wanted equal footing but made their own platform for games. Epic backed by Tencent could make their own console or phone. Instead, Epic wants to profit off of Apple's platform without paying royalties. You also don't see Steam on the Epic Store. They want to ride on Apple's success. So does Microsoft after their failed Windows phones and their push for digital services on Apple's platform.
What if Nintendo or Sega would have bought up third parties during the height of their success at home and in the arcade. That would have made it difficult for an outsider like Sony to enter the game business. That would mean all the success Sony has had over the last 25 years wouldn't exist. That would have been a bad lock out.
I hope gamers see what I'm saying. If it's your platform, you have a right to do whatever on your platform like lock others out from profiting on your platform free from abiding by your rules. Apple wasn't locking Epic out. Apple wanted payments of royalties based on their rules on their platform. Epic didn't like the rules they signed and went around it.
There's also lock outs that are bad by locking content to one platform. If everyone was enjoying multiplatform content, and you buy it up to only have it for yourself, that's bad. Microsoft is guilty of that as they buy big publishers. But this guilty company wants to back Epic to give both of them free reign on Apple's platform. Crazy right?
Microsoft loves breaking down barriers to forcing their crappy sub services onto every medium they can push their malware onto. As a consumer I have chosen some Apple products because they are closed ecosystems. If I wanted an MS phone and platform I’d have bought one, but they didn’t offer a competitive product. That’s free market. Trying to “Epic” their way into controlling someone else’s platform is pretty lame.
Just a bunch of opportunists. Non of these people really want Apple to be taking down a notch or two, they just either want money or… well that's really it, just money. Same when all these congress people get together and interrogate FB and Twitter. All for show and money cause they're all invested in these tech giants and profiting off them. Which is why it's been such a drawn out battle for right to repair, and why more companies now have been able to get away with locking up products you buy with subscriptions and specific repair shops
Microsoft's about to partake in some of that Lunar New Year Sale Epic has going on. Sorry, did I say some? I meant ALL.
"So, Microsoft! Which games are you interested in getting today?"
"Yes...[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5)̲̅$̲̅] -😈و ̑̑"
"Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit!!! "
