Cease and Desist letter from Nintendos lawyers in 3...2...1... You have been warned my friend.

CobraKai1169d ago

I always wonder why put the energy, time, and effort to do these. Nintendo, and other companies who don’t like their IPs toyed with, will send out those Cease and Desists like they were Sentinels from The Matrix.

Vits1169d ago

Well in this particular case it doesn't matter if is a Nintendo game or not. As this is a mod for a console game that can only be used in computers by means of a emulator. So I doubt that there is a single company in the market that would be fine with it.

That said the end result is pretty amazing.

Kados1169d ago (Edited 1169d ago )

It is a mod for emulation. Nintendo cannot do anything. There are already similar mods for various other games, including Pokemon Sword/Shield, & Lets Go, BotW, Xenoblade, etc. They have been available for a couple years without issue.

SlothLordPootus1169d ago

If Nintendo ever found themselves short or cash they simply could remake this and would rake it in. I'm still waiting for them to rerelease Wind Waker HD on Switch.

Majors1169d ago

Nintendo should hire this person / group to do this what fans want but they cant be arsed to do it themselves

There's another guy doing this exact thing called Heidrick magnifico or something, he released a really good Skyward Sword patch a few months ago.

beanplant1169d ago

Imagine if nintendo had a proper vr headset. All the 3ds games could potentially get ports for it. Or just imagine what Nintendo could do with Vr . Kinda off topic sorry

ifinitygamer1169d ago

3D is not the same as VR.
There's also the issue of frame rate, as you need *minimum* 90Hz to not feel queasy, and at least 720p in each eye, while the 3DS puts out 400x240 per eye at 60Hz. But a game like Ocarina of Time chugs and you see framerate dips into the single digits in some cases; that's a recipe for someone barfing all over the place.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64129d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga129d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic129d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits129d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake129d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - A Legend 25 Years in the Making

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time debuted 25 years ago, forever changing the face of video games and becoming a legend of its own.

Number1TailzFan161d ago

I used a guide to beat part of it but some of the rest myself, still enjoyed it regardless. Too bad they didn't stick with this kind of gameplay for the rest of the series as I would prefer it over what they're doing now.

TheBrainZ161d ago

A definitive moment in video game history. Played it countless times, and Zelda was the best reason to own an N64.

FinalFantasyFanatic161d ago

I played through OoT so many times on the 64, then I bought it on the 3DS before the Eshop shut down. I wish we could have a Zelda collection like we did for Mario, I still can't believe that never happened.
