Niche products yes, but for fans of the sport, they just about served a purpose as we geared up for a annual launch of the franchise going forward. But then all went quiet, with a couple of years passing without sign of any new title. That is until now as NACON and Eko Software announce that Handball 21 will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC this year."

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Handball 21 is not a good game in any sense of the word. Die-hard handball fans will probably be able to ignore this game’s myriad of issues and enjoy what’s basically the only available simulator in the market. Everyone else, be it a casual sports fan or someone who has never heard of handball before, will quickly become fed up with how lackluster this game’s presentation and gameplay are. Avoid this one, even if you were interested in checking it out due to sheer curiosity."
Michael Kitchin writes, "What Handball 21 does well is represent the top of the European table of the sport. Unfortunately, the gameplay and animation can't hold up to the challenge. As a newcomer, I struggled to get to grips with what is a very tactical sport. I find space hard to manufacture and, whilst defensive duties are better handled, the goalkeepers provide a real lottery. I can't complain much about the modes on offer but the clumsy gameplay dampened my enthusiasm. Some training modes could've helped but I found this game tough to penetrate."
