Why the highest-selling console of all time is also the best.

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5
2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
ps1 was the greatest by large margin ....legendary games on it that will never be surpassed or even remaked 1:1

Im gonna have to disagree. PS1 was far superior and the dreamcast was a much better console that the PS2 was at the time. Graphics were so much better too than the PS2.
I remember getting one at launch and being very disappointed. Its too bad, because the dreamcast really was on to something. What a kick ass library of games it had!
I think that entire gen was the best of gaming (at least for me personally) PS2, OG Xbox, GameCube and Dreamcast. All of those consoles had great mainstream games and unique obscure games that are still celebrated today.
Man, the leap from PS1 to PS2 was incredible at the time. This is when it became obvious that just about anything you could imagine would eventually be possible in gaming. PS2 showed gamers how things could improve very quickly, and look where we are now. PS1 was an amazing machine for its time too, but I feel that PS2 is what opened many people’s eyes to the endless possibilities of what video games could be capable of.
