I would argue the opposite, RE3 comes packed with Resistance because of the poor early reveal reception Resistance got being a 1v4 game

I dont expect it to be good, or for the matter do well if it shipped alone. RE3 is fine, but I'd prefer outbreak for the MP component. And yeah, RE3 is short,but I wouldn't say Resistance is being added to it to make up for that

Logic... no surprise re3 is shorter than re2 when there was one disc in the original. It is as long as Claire’s playthrough from re2.

Really? It has been some time but I recall RE3 being longer than any one playthrough of RE2 with a single character. I don't know if it was as long as a full AB run of RE2, but I do remember it having a reasonable length regardless. I would imagine that the remake will be similar in that sense, especially if it also adds new content like the RE2 remake did.

Exactly, re2 remake on average runs people 2-3hrs longer than the ps1 original. Same could be done for 3.

@chiefJohn117 I do think that asking for a full remake of both RE3 and RE4 (not remasters) packaged together for $30-$40 is unrealistic. That's how I saw your post. Arara admits it doesn't need a remake but would be great if we got one, which I agree with. Current-gen/Next-gen complete remake of Resident Evil 4 would be cool, but same money (and it's a lot) could be put towards other projects.

Re4 has seen more releases than any other RE game out there.
and it's animations are still on par with most games of today.
the only other RE game that did not age that well in my opinion is Code Veronica.
Code Veronica looks very ancient.

-They’re remaking the series in order of release. Resident Evil - Code: Veronica and then Reisdent Evil 0 would be next.

- Resident Evil 4 has already been rereleased so many times. Time to give other entries in the series and chance to shine. Plus RE4 is modern enough already to not warrant a remake like the entries with tank controls.

- You honestly think Capcom can just remake two full titles and release them at the same time?

- The amount of effort and production value in this remake warrants the $60

I don't understand the hate resistance is getting. I think it's gonna be pretty cool. I know re and horror in general has a very bumpy relationship with multiplayer. But asymmetrical suits it really well and I for one can't wait.

Having faster pace and more focus on action tend to make the game feels shorter than RE2 it also have less puzzles than RE2 so if you're sucks at it that game's puzzles it can drags on while RE3 didn't do that other than the water sample puzzle that was hard.
But really it wasn't much shorter than the RE2 at all I'm hauling my ass with infinite launcher and still finished it in 3 hours in the original RE3,RE2 pretty much was a bit longer but not that longer unless that was for people who can't play right and struggle with the puzzles.
Mind you that was the original we don't know anything about the remake RE3 length so this guy just stir shit up for clicks as usual.

Re3 is missing a separate story, but being able to leave the police station and actually explore raccoon city made up for it. It's 5-6 hours which is perfect. I always preferred it over part 2. Hell id pay 39.99 just for part 3. Have no interest in resistance.

People forget that the original RE3 had the choice system at certain moments, and that this gave the game a form of replayability that RE2 didn’t have. By giving the player the ability to affect the events of the story/the order or location they take place it incentivised playing the game for longer. It seems a bit quaint and minor by today’s standards for branching pathway stories/games like Until Dawn or Detroit: Become Human, but perhaps Capcom have leant into this and developed it more than they’re letting on in the trailers and interviews released thus far?

A more impactful choice system in the RE3 remake that could allow for totally different pathways and locations with unique weapons/puzzles inaccessible by taking the alternate choice, characters like Mikhael, Brad could even survive or Barry to play a more significant part in the endgame?

RE2 is only longer because of the A/B scenario's, and for the most part you're getting an identical experience. RE3 is going to get its length from the multiple choice scenarios that you get from time to time.

E.g:
Fight nemesis or run into the police station.

Climb down the hatch in the restaurant or hide in the back.

Jump out of the window of the newspaper place or hide.

Jump out of the window of the cable car or pull the emergency brake.

That's only a few of the different options you can pick throughout the course of the game, and maybe they'll add even more?

There are also 3 different endings to go for in RE3, so all of that adds tons of replayability.

This game would be well worth the price of entry, even without Resistance being bundled in. The author has no clue what they're talking about.

This author is either smoking crack or didn’t do much research. Altogether RE2 the remake and original lasted well beyond 10 hours. Not even going to lament speed runners as they don’t factor into this. RE3 remake will do what it needs to do in length.

The author didn’t even know that nemesis’s mechanics actually were more groundbreaking than the tyrants, as nemesis was the first to have tons of non scripted appearances. The original tyrant did not follow you around like he does in the re2 remake.

I've written this a lot today but let's wait and see before blindly jumping in. If the game is incredibly short and I have no plans to play multiplayer then in a few months I can pick it up for $25. Let's be smart about this fellow gamers. Instead of letting game companies take advantage of us let's make them do the right thing by not blindly purchasing shitty games.
