Here's why you should get a PlayStation 4 Pro instead of an Xbox One X.

This literally looks like they just copy/pasted comments from their last article for sake of damage control.

sushimama2109d ago

The article and website are trash and unnecessary

COOLBOAT192109d ago

And one one reason not to... 4k movies

2pacalypsenow2109d ago

You can still watch 4K movies.

Just not 4K Blu Rays, and the people who use the Xbox 1 X as a BD player, most likely don’t have the equipment to tell a difference between stream and physical.

darthv722109d ago

I can tell the difference mainly due to artifacting on a 4k stream (due to inconsistency in the provider signal) as opposed to direct play from a disc. Id imagine most others can as well.

2pacalypsenow2109d ago

I watched a digital copy and 4K Blu Ray on my Xbox and there was almost no difference.

Now on a my Sony 4K projector with a Panasonic UB9000 and Atmos, that’s a different story.

Immorals2108d ago

Digital streaming 4k is very different to 4k blurays, as is the difference from a film actually filmed in 4k rather than upscaled 4k blu rays

rainslacker2108d ago

If one really wants what 4K movies have to offer, buying a stand alone UHD player is the way to go. They can be had for $120-150, and they're significantly better than what the X1 has. I don't know why, as there is nothing preventing X1 doing better. Maybe they have bad codec rendering or something. It's only really cheap UHD players that are not very good, and there aren't very many of those on the market. Usually seen as bargain players.

Let me buy a game console over another because of 4K movies

Pffff

TheSaint2109d ago

Movies playing in 4k is definitely a huge concern when buying a GAME console. /s

SyntheticForm2108d ago

I own 'one' 4K movie. Fury on UHD BD. Great movie but the 4K part I could honestly do without. It's better for gaming - for movies it just isn't all that exciting.

the Joysticks are Symmetrical like Your Arms are, your left arm isnt Longer to reach the left Joystick up there( unless you have a Deformity), always felt odd to me

Shane Kim2108d ago

I like the xbox controller for fps games though. The asymmetrical joysticks feels better in fps.

SyntheticForm2108d ago

I just like the size and ergonomics of the Xbox One controller.

The Dual Shock 4 is fine, but for long sessions I prefer the Xbox One controller.

umair_s512108d ago

It comes to personal preference. I like Xbox controllers for fps. For almost everything else I prefer DS4

jaymacx2108d ago

Actually your arms are different lengths, that is why they measure each arm when you get fitted for a suit/tuxedo. As for Symmetrical or Asymmetrical that is a personal preference. I can use both controllers with no issues.

rainslacker2108d ago

Maybe, but people's hands are typically symmetrical.

Sony needs to update their cooling system for the PS5. The Xbox One X is quiet while PS4 Pro sounds like a jet engine on CPU heavy games.

jukins2109d ago

Yea I really hope they do I HAVE to play with headphones or I'll just hear ps4 going at max speed. I've even taken it apart and deep cleaned but still loud as hell

2pacalypsenow2109d ago

The early Pros are loud as hell.

The news ones barely make a noise.

Stanjara2108d ago

I absolutely agree! I changed on mine thermal paste, and now PS4 pro is silent. Half of the APU was dry and thermal paste was spilled on the side. It is ridiculous that the end user has to investigate and take the console apart, but I hope that they do better cooling on the next gen.

They probably just updated compound of thermal paste on newer models, since they have the same cooler and draw the same amount of electrical power.

It really does sound like a jet engine when playing some games. God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn put my Pro into total airport mode.

Funny thing about that is it got the loudest when viewing the maps of both games; like the maps were hardware intensive.

If you're good at such things, I'd recommend reseating the fan with new thermal paste. A lot of them used way too much paste at the factory, and in mine, all the paste was on the sides of the processor core, and none was on the actual metal part. Once I redid the thermal paste, it's been quiet, except sometimes in the menu of some games, where I guess they didn't limit the rendering process and it just runs as fast as the processor would allow. If reseating, taking the system apart is harder than putting replacing the paste, because of all the ribbon cables. I broke one, but luckily, know how to solder.

Not that I don't agree with you that Sony should get with the QC on the cooling system, just that it's not the actual cooling system that's the problem. Newer one's don't seem to have the same problem.

It’s really old now. All great MMOs decline.

Also who wants to keep paying a monthly fee every month, there are other options like Guild Wars 2 😁with no monthly fee and while not that many people overall compared to FF XIV, it did increase to about 21 mil now.

kaewcha7345h ago

Looks like Square Enix is self-aware but still stuck in place, they see the player drop and apologize for the bugs, but nothing really changes. Shame, FFXIV used to be the gold standard

Servbot413h ago

My entire free company has stopped playing. The writing has consistently gotten worse and the content is sparse and lacking; unless you are a hardcore player there's very little for you to do. They are over-catering to the people who will grind three+ times a week on a single fight for multiple months when the playerbase by large doesn't want that sort of content. Square needs to dedicate more resources to the game instead of wasting them on mobile and other live service slop.
