Naughty Dog is looking to “close out” development for The Last Of Us Part 2

Naughty Dog is aiming to wrap up development for The Last Of Us Part 2.

AspiringProGenji1850d ago (Edited 1850d ago )

I would work as a janitor for free just to take a peak at the game🤤

1850d ago
AnthonyDavis1849d ago

Nope would not work for free.

VenomUK1849d ago

Where he says "close out" I think it means to complete development. There are quite a few positions listed so I don't think it means they are quite at the finish line. I suspect this will be finished Q2 next year with loads of play testing. If Sony have any sense they will release it the same time as PS5.

TheColbertinator1849d ago

He would get a 2nd job to cover his needs.

jznrpg1849d ago

He would only need to do it for one day .

81BX1849d ago

Sounds like I need the 2nd job lol

Flynn_Ryder_8971850d ago

Same. This is my most anticipated game next to Cyberpunk 2077.

Nyxus1850d ago

For me it's the most anticipated together with Death Stranding. Still hoping for a 2019 release.

Neonridr1850d ago

I adored the first game, so I can only hope that the second can do a repeat in terms of hitting me right in the feelings.

pietro12121849d ago

Same here along with Death Stranding

sprinterboy1849d ago

Death stranding holds that spot for me, followed by savage starlight.

KickSpinFilter1849d ago

TLOU2
Cyberpunk 2077
Ghosts of T
COD MW4
Iron Man VR
The Last Night
Death Stranding

Those salty disagrees.

Can't wait for this game.

Epzaos1849d ago

What's with the downvotes?

Neonridr1849d ago

honestly no clue.. I guess I am not excited for this game, lol

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Neonridr1849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

@tree_fiddy - and what way is that? That I am an open PS4 and Switch user? That I support both companies?

That way? Didn't know as an owner of both consoles that I can't look forward to games on both platforms. Man, this whole pick one side of the sand is really confusing guys..

I was pretty hyped about it too, but then I saw the SJW crap this game is engulfed in, including its VAs who spread said crap on Twatter, and Neil Druckmann's tweets about "girl power". Ugh.

I don't think the story will be bad, but it may have a lot of cringey moments, unless they'll hide their SJW views as well as they did in the 1st game. Nonetheless, for pushing a propaganda, I'll either buy it after it gets cheap, or I'll buy an used copy thanks to which they won't have my money.

SheenuTheLegend1849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

i think they will release it next year close to the ps5 to end the ps4 lifecycle with a bang just like they did with with last of us 1 on ps3.
but i do hope you are right and we all get this title this year.
.

Bane351849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

Yeah i agree most likely release on both ps4/5 at the same time

SyntheticForm1849d ago

Oh man, I can't wait. That combat looks so good, and combat was one of the most satisfying aspects of The Last of Us' game play. The melee combat - but the gun play was also good.

This is one of those games where you ask whatever's out there to let you live long enough to play it.

ClayRules20121849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

I can’t wait for it either. The melee combat was so satisfying. And the gunplay just felt right/natural.

Lastly, the story...still (for me) the best performances in a video game to date. Just perfection from Troy & Ashley, who brought Joel & Ellie to life in such a Raw, Honest, and Believable way. The whole cast was just wonderful. Nod to Nolan North, because his performance of David was creepy as all hell! Scared the S*** outta me while having to fight him (only time I ever used the ability to see through walls lol)

And i hear ya haha. I pray to God I live long enough to experience all that this sequel has to offer & than to in the end, see the credits show up on my tv screen. While I’d be very appreciative to live beyond that all, because there’s way more important things in my life to live for and experience over this game... I just wanna play & experience this game so badly lol.

Hardiman1849d ago

It is something so special and this sequel looks in. I love the more open areas and the detail just impress so much.

SyntheticForm1849d ago

Agreed completely. Also, doesn't the melee combat look like it's on steroids? Seeing that game play where Ellie goes up against the brute makes me hope that there are a lot of enemies in this game.

I also doubt that this is going to be the typical hide in grass, distract, melee, shoot type game. From what I've seen this transcends that. Naughty Dog know they have to bring it.

derektweed11849d ago

Really?

The combat was what turned me off this game, aim a gun was so bad, using melee seemed like the best way to play.

Rhythmattic1849d ago

Really?

I disagree . really.

JesusBuiltmyHotrod1849d ago

LOL....then you are dumb. The combat in TLOU is fantastic. Impactful, fight to the death every fight.

gam3r_4_lif31849d ago

Man the combat and game mechanics were weak and repetitive, we get it she cant swim oh look a pallet. I found the combat kinda annoying and a chore to get through, it was everything else that got me through to the ending which I loved, there were some very memorable moments where the game really shined. What made the game stand out for me was the story, dialogue and voice acting. If they improve the actual gameplay to match the quality of the dialogue and voice acting TLOU2 has actually a good shot at being the near masterpiece many incorrectly proclaimed the previous one to be

JesusBuiltmyHotrod1849d ago (Edited 1849d ago )

LMAo what? The combat in TLOu is fantastic. Shut the hell up.

gam3r_4_lif31848d ago

@Jesus I guess we played a different game or I play more games with good combat so had something to compare it to or its just subjective, either way I never shut up at the request of random idiots on the net

ClayRules20121849d ago

Yes. I think the word “steroids” describes the melee combat we saw at E3 perfectly! That fight with her & the brute was so intense, and I’m hoping there’s a fair verity of enemies like that, with unique attacks, in a sense.

Naughty Dog definitely knows what their doing, and I do believe this will transcend your typical hide, distract, melee, shoot type of game. It’s gonna be something else that just raises the bar.

BLUEKNIFE1849d ago

I will delete YouTube from my phone and avoid any gaming outlets close to launch. I don't want those nasty spoiling videos to ruin the experience of this amazing game. I did the same with GOW and worked :)

PhantomS421849d ago

Agreed Hopefully the release date trailer doesn't show too much more than what they have maybe a better idea on what the story will be but that will be my last one before release.

jznrpg1849d ago

I’m going to skip that too . I know enough already !

The Last of Us Part 2 interview: Druckmann on Ellie sexuality, violence and the 'death' of Joel

Perched on the edge of a sofa at the back of a warehouse in an unfashionable part of Hollywood and with his trademarked unruly curls for once corralled into a more manageable man bun - out of 'laziness' rather than any kind of fashion statement, he protests - Neil Druckmann is in excitable but enigmatic mood.

She's a girl who's into girls, which makes her very much unique and a standout character. I, for one, have never once seen someone's sexuality pushed to the forefront of a story that would otherwise have correlation to it, definitely not in the last 2 years or so. Much deep and many multilayered. Can't wait.

2pacalypsenow1713d ago (Edited 1713d ago )

Nothing unique or standout about a girl liking girls.

It's 2019, who gives a sh** who you like to sleep with...

KwietStorm_BLM1713d ago

Was the sarcasm not heavy enough?

2pacalypsenow1713d ago

I'm sorry.

It's hard to tell these days.

ShinjukuSon1713d ago

I thought it was sarcasm, but couldn't tell by the end.

Twinblade1713d ago

it's 2019, if you don't date a chick with a dick, it's called homophobic apparently.

ShockUltraslash1713d ago

Children.
You suddenly give a sh** now right?

Larrysweet1713d ago

Being gay is not deep or multilayerd what? Ellies gay so what really doesnt need be part of the story

NarooN1713d ago

He was being sarcastic lol

gamer78041713d ago

this is not a unique or brave stance when you look at it another way. Gamers are much more willing to play a game that there is a lesbian relationship than lets say a gay male relationship. If the story were about Joel and his male partner and a child they took in, now that would be a risk and something standout in this industry. But I don't see NaughtyDog or any AAA developer ever doing this in their game, because it would kill sales if we are being honest.

milohighclub1713d ago

Not gonna for at least 5-10 years I'd say. Well see our first openly gay male lead towards the back end of next gen. Probably the next naughty dog game.

I don't know why ur getting so upset and nothing in that rant addresses anything I said.

80% of communication is non verbal, but u already know that so I dont know why your expecting ppl to never misinterpret ur speech in text form.

"It’s so ambitious the game doesn’t fit on one BluRay, it’s on two discs. It’s so ambitious that we actually decided to make it single player only. There’s no multiplayer in The Last of Us Part 2. We wanted to take all of the resources to make this the biggest game we’ve ever done.”

Well no reason to buy day one then. Will wait for GOTY edition.

CDbiggen1713d ago

These Sony games tend to be the complete game on day one, to be fair. It's the third party titles that are shafting us

2pacalypsenow1713d ago

No one played the first game because of the multiplayer.

uncharted561713d ago (Edited 1713d ago )

Correction. No one bought it for multiplayer but a lot of ppl including me were pleasantly surprised by it. And its extremely disappointing for me that they are not including the multiplayer in this.

FPS_D3TH1713d ago

Not wrong but when they discovered the multiplayer most realized what a gem it was and different from what’s currently available

FPS_D3TH1713d ago

Wait for the next gen version. It’ll only be half a year later

RedDevils1713d ago

Well, good luck having a spoiled free by the time you get that GOTY edition.

SeanScythe1713d ago

meh not an issue, i waited for GOW a year later and it wasn't spoiled.

It's actually "dru"...ckmann.

I'll see myself out. I'm walking towards the door...no?..not even a little? Okay. Next time. I'm leaving now...(peaks back through the door)... didn't even break a smile?...(closes door)...(yells in the hallway).."DRU!"

Okay. Guess I've watched too much Family Guy.
