I could see this helping with some exposure for vr. Like Bridge Crew at the Star Trek convention. Or Anime based vr games at Comi con. VR at medical conventions or real estate conventions.

More than likely, this will be a thing already going forward in some industries like architecture, or the automotive industry. In order to sell the tech, companies who create vr software will be doing this.

This is very significant. Great news.

Is it just that easy? I'm genuinely asking.

Babadook7113d ago (Edited 113d ago )

For a few games it's pretty easy. Just need to apply the mod and settings. For most of them of course you need tinker yourself with settings at the moment but it's not that hard (apparently).

RiseNShine112d ago (Edited 112d ago )

It's as easy or complex as you want, most of the big games like Hogwarts Legacy, Atomic Heart, etc, , hundreds of them (check flatscreen to vr discord) have some profiles already made, so you just load them and it automatically sets the best settings others modders have already found, so it's a matter of minutes, but of course you can tinker for hours to make it suit your needs.

This I would welcomed, haven’t replayed any of the older games since released years ago. VR would definitely get me to replay them all again. Make it happen Capcom.

Psvr2 version of Re7 and Re2Remake would be fire.

Tacoboto144d ago

Capcom porting anything to SteamVR would be fire.

You can already play RE 2-3-7-8 on PC via VR mods (Praydog) they offer hand-tracking movement (like PSVR2 Village) and full VR cutscenes.
THE RE7 mod is better compared to the old PSVR version due to hand tracking.

Modding != Official Support

Petebloodyonion144d ago

"Modding != Official Support"
And?
You can still play it in VR and worse it shows that this is far from a complicated feat requiring a full studio with tons of money since it's been done by 1 guy working on this mod from time to time.
So basically this could have been done by Capom a long time ago.

And again You should try (it's pretty easy to install) for Res7 for It's improved even on the PSVR version of the game.

Spencer Mansion in VR would be AMAZING. That is my favorite video game setting of all time.
