Again, third party game selling better on PS4 than on Switch.

Judgment and God Eater 3 should reach 200k next week.

Geobros1960d ago

Cool......God Eater is trying to get 200k copies when smash bros has already 2 million copies. Why do you compare the 2 of them? I don't get it.

Kainbrightside1960d ago

To be fair any game competing with Smash is going to have a hard time

The 10th Rider1960d ago

It sold 13% better on a console with a 13% larger install base.

EddieNX 1960d ago

The Switch is blowing Japan away buddy. From now on the Switch is the number 1 console over there for third larties

Neonridr1960d ago (Edited 1960d ago )

LOL.. wow

Thanks for the laugh today Lime. Smash is over 10x those games. But hey, glad you could find something to try to downplay. I bet you anything DQ Builders will sell more overall on Switch. With a smaller install base mind you.

Smash will have sold more in a few weeks than Monster Hunter World did in 11 months.

Literal_Cringe1960d ago

Third party Switch games have longer legs, talk about these games in a few weeks.

TrollTrollsWithTruth1960d ago (Edited 1960d ago )

Resident Evil Revelations, Thimbleweed Park, Forma.8, Wulverblade, Starlink and a host of other games have sold better on Switch than the other platforms (in some cases with all other platforms combined)

Builders 2 rocks! Superbly weird, fun and quirky game with excellent design enhancements over the original. Just watching it is fun, particularly when you get past the first large area.

The 10th Rider1960d ago (Edited 1960d ago )

I'm definitely interested, but I heard it was a bit buggy? IDK if that was just the Switch version or if it was both. I'm hoping by the time it comes stateside they've worked out the kinks. Did you notice lots of bugs or anything like that?

Tapani1960d ago (Edited 1960d ago )

Just small stuff. Nothing that makes playing impossible or anything that we've really noticed. Just a few times we thought "is this a bug?" There's a patch in the works which addresses all the bugs, and probably adds to the game as well. Bought the DLC included package from HK store with the 10% discount code, was around $70 USD total package. The first DLC wasn't exactly a real expansion, just some blocks and stuff, but they keep coming so everything counts. Edit: PS4 Pro Japanese Language version here.

The 10th Rider1960d ago

@Tapani,

That's good to hear. I had heard the Switch version had a bug where if you talked to two NPC's in the wrong order, it crashed the game or something. I'll probably be waiting for the US release anyways, so I am hoping it's solid by the time it comes stateside.

Tapani1959d ago

Yeah it'll probably come next year to the US. The music, by the way, is pretty much the best Dragon Quest has to offer. A huge plus for someone who has to watch the other one to play it for 14 hours a day ha!

King_Noctis1960d ago

I wish I could speak Japanese so I can play this game. After DQB1, this one is one of my most anticipated titles.

Lime1231960d ago

Looks like Switch won't beat PS4's LTD numbers by the end of year. PS4 still leads by over 800k.

septemberindecember1960d ago

I guess not, but almost surpassing PS4 LTD numbers in 20 months when the PS4 has been around for 61 months is definitely an accomplishment.

Lime1231960d ago

How come it doesn't do that outside of Japan?

mcstorm1960d ago

Lime123 you do know handheld consoles tend to sell more than home consoles in Japan compaired to the rest of the world don't you? OK the switch can be classed as home console to but it works on the game and this is why.

Don't worry the ps4 is still selling amazing so you can stay out of melt down for a bit longer.

septemberindecember1960d ago

@Lime123

Because the PS4 sold well back then and continues to?

The Switch is tracking similar numbers as the PS4 in similar timeframes. That’s good for both companies. Stop the fanboyism.

At the rate the Switch is selling I give it one or two more months max before it outsells the PS4 (in Japan).

Lime1231960d ago

So you think that in January Switch will continue to sell 250k+ for week?

monkeyshawn601959d ago

Who cares. If the Switch outsells the PS4 big deal. If the PS4 outsells the Switch, big deal. Both are doing great and that helps the video game industry.

Neonridr1959d ago

The fact that you are bragging about that like it is some sort of accomplishment when the PS4 has been around for 3 extra years is hilarious. What the PS4 has done in 5 years in Japan the Switch will do in 2.

ZeekQuattro1959d ago

Smash just might end up passing Splatoon 2 in Japan. A game that refuses to leave the top 10.

monkeyshawn601959d ago

Lots of big sales. Smash is a monster, DQB 2 is gonna be very successful, Super Mario Party is the big surprise and Pokemon Let's Go will end up selling 2 million in Japan.

Lego games are always fun... and that is one I had not played before.

isarai56d ago

It's always the ine they leave out if the headline that interests me most 😅 DBZ Kakarot, been waiting for this to pop up on plus

Kyizen56d ago

I completely missed that DBZ Kakarot was in the group, I have midnight sons and RE3 so was kinda disappointed.

StormSnooper55d ago (Edited 55d ago )

Yea, it’s my last chance to play my childhood, now that he is gone. I’m watching way too many good anime at the moment to rewatch the series but this is the perfect excuse to visit that universe.

jznrpg56d ago

Never played Midnight Suns and probably won’t anytime soon but maybe someday. Pretty good month not great not horrible. I used to love sports games when I was a kid but that was before the monetization they went through and now I avoid them.

phoenixwing55d ago (Edited 55d ago )

Not all sports games are like that but ea and 2k games are definitely

DarXyde55d ago

Definitely give Midnight Suns a download if you've got Plus.

It's great.

phoenixwing45d ago

I agree midnight sun's is fun

Eonjay56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Heard a lot of good things about Midnight Suns! Also looking forward to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and will probably download 2K24 as well.

LucasRuinedChildhood56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Not a great month for me. Will give Midnight Suns a go.

I've never played Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Might give it a go although it's supposed to just be okay.

Never played a Phoenix Wright game before, so might try Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

SonyStyled56d ago

The Lost Frontier isn’t a true Jak and Daxter game. If you haven’t played them before I’d highly advise skipping The Lost Frontier and spending your time on the trilogy. The real Jak games are developed by Naughty Dog

LucasRuinedChildhood56d ago

I'm a big Jak & Daxter fan. Just not that into portables so I never picked this one up (didn't know there was a PS2 port when I was younger).
