this is what i want

i want HVB to be the bowling game in HOME! If they could do that then HOME will blow doors open in the next 5 years!

besides that

game themed rooms should be kinda cool just to check out! I wonder if they will give trouphies for playing mini games inside HOME?

I'm currently in the HOME Beta and I'm afraid that many of you are going to be really disappointed when it is finally released. Its just so...... boring and uninteresting. I really don't mean to be so harsh but I don't know of any other way to describe it. Unless they amp up the content in HOME by a significant amount (and I mean a really significant amount) then HOME will more than likely fail miserably. Its a shame too because there are so many things you can do with it. It has the potential to be the defining piece of software for the PS3 but at the moment it doesn't look like that will happen. Lets pray they can turn it around.

Right now there are, I believe, 4 main locations (plaza, theater, game room, & mall) you can travel to besides your 2 personal spaces (studio apt & summer home) and not counting the Far Cry 2 and Uncharted spaces. For HOME to succeed you would seriously need to up that number up to 10-15 main locations not counting any new game spaces. And with game spaces try to keep at least 10 up at all times.

EDIT: Let me clarify that locations alone won't do it but new locations with new activities would. The mall needs to be bigger with more outlets. Let me buy mp3s at the mall and then download them to my hard drive. Incorporate the PSN store into HOME so I can browse the content at a store and select what I want to download. The same with the video store but also let me stream the content into my HOMEspace so that others can view it too. Let me go to a cafe and read the news. Create new mini-games just for HOME and have rewards for doing well. Have unlockable trophies in HOME to give incentive to stay there. Lastly, give developers free access to do almost whatever they want in HOME. Give developers incentives to creat HOME Spaces.

And it would be nice to give everyone a full detailed profile with pics & custom avatars. Maybe something akin to a MySpace profile.

I respect your opinion because you are in the Beta, but I think that is why at TGS Sony annouced all of its partners in Home. I think they will release it once a few more of those partners add the content they want. I see this as like when the sent out the trophy kits to the developers they just sent out the home kits to developers to add special rooms in home. We will see, but I think once home is released they will call it the open beta and make improvements to it throughout the year.

pain777pas5663d ago

@the used version I respect your analysis and I believe it is genuine. What you've stated as lacking in the beta we hope they rectify in the final release but kudos for your honesty.

bviperz5664d ago

Oh I hope you're right! Can't wait for home since I can't afford to pimp out my real home, I'll pimp out my ps3 home. Then I can invite all my friends over to check out my pimp pad! Online of course...

ATLRoAcH5664d ago

...sounds about right. I just got the new P:ToM and it talks a lot about Home. The editor talks about how we'll be trying out Home for ourselves very soon. He also talks about how new features will be added to it 3 months after launch, 6 months after, all the way through the PS3s life and beyond(PS4 Home?). This was in the editors note.

In the end of the separate article on Home he says that Home will finally release and soon. He goes on to say that if we're messing around with Home on Thanksgiving, he wouldn't be surprised.

So I'd say we'll all have Home by Thanksgiving.

SL1M DADDY5664d ago

Home is a perfect example of gaining a stronger hold on your user base by keeping them into something that can be transfered from one console to the next. Imagine a day when the PS4 comes out and all of those that have entered into and created lives in home. They will definitely want to see their digital selves in the new format when the new PS comes out and Home is still alive and well on that platform. It will be pretty cool to see how they make the transition.

Not that I care much but t will be nice for those that do when we get the actual 3D trophies. Are they still doing that?

They should have super realistic textures like all the treasures ( <---is that the right word?) you find in Uncharted?

pwnsause5664d ago (Edited 5664d ago )

its definitely coming out by the end of this year, count on that.

LOL at phanton disagree. Are you in the home beta to disagree with me? When Sony announced that Home was releasing by the end of this calendar year, they mean it, cause they promised it, Their investors would start selling their stock if it doesn't release by the end of this year, even if its beta, they have to release it.

omodis4205664d ago

Sony is competent. They know that they need to get the ball rolling. They know they have a line-up that can compete for the next year and half or more. They have some momentum. Even with the 360 price drop the PS3 is selling almost as well. Microsoft will have a big holiday season, but so will Sony, and Nintendo. And in Sony's case, the best will come after Christmas. Home is going to be a huge part of that success.

pwnsause5664d ago

bubbles up for that statement.

Jamie Foxx5664d ago

i like sony products but as for their promises go.....this gen ive learnt to take them with a pinch of salt

pwnsause5664d ago (Edited 5664d ago )

True, but their investors are expecting this to happen this year, or else they wont be happy.

Edit: these phantom disgrees dont stop, someone probably likes me here.

ultimolu5664d ago (Edited 5664d ago )

pwnsauce, I think it's also because someone hates certain people around here...

Anyway, Home all the way!

So, I Finally Played Home

I recently published an article about beating my Steam backlog by getting organised and the first game I’ve completed with this new approach is Home.

I chose Home not because of its production values or reviews, but because, well, it’s short. I needed a game to start my new approach on the right foot and read that Home takes less than two hours to beat.

Whatever my reasons for finally installing Home, I found it to be an enjoyable yet flawed title.
