What's the most hyped you've ever been about an upcoming game?

The PC Gamer staff, and a few readers, share their hype stories about the games that had them the most excited over the years.

No Man's Sky...

...and then came the let down.

Eonjay2106d ago

Kingdom Hearts III but that is literally hype built over a decade. Thats kinda like organic hype, because there are only two possibilities: one, you lose hope in ever getting to play it or you're hype just builds and builds until its out of this world.

I didn't open my ps4 for 3 years because my wife said "open it when you pass the driving test (theory + practical)"

I passed it just after GOW release and before my theory expired so that I can open the ps4 and play GOW :D

CitizenFour2105d ago

How on earth were you able to wait? Especially if you had possession of it. You are a strong willed person.

AspiringProGenji2106d ago

So far God of War. I stopped driving long distances for the fear of dying in an accident before it came, and the game lived up to the hype.

Switch4One2106d ago

Hahaha! Bloody brilliant! I'm glad there's someone who thinks like me here.
Although for me that kind of thinking was reserved for Avengers Infinity War.

Spider-Man PS4 is the most hyped I've ever been for a game in a long time. Last time I bought a console out of sheer hype was Uncharted 2 and mind you it was already out when I did that.

Looool this made me spit my drink out laughter

SegaGamer2106d ago

Shenmue 3. I have never been more excited for a game as much as this one. This is a game i have been waiting for since i completed Shenmue 2, something i thought was never going to happen.

Eonjay2106d ago

This probably tops the list. The wait for this has been longer than Kingdom Hearts 3.

purple1012106d ago

Was God of war. Now Ghost of Tushima. Sucker punch haven't released a game in a long time, making me think they have poured love time and effort into this one, plus I have a penchant for Japanese Samurai way of life and its one of my top interests... As I'm sure it it for many people too.

They are mo-capping REAL HORSES for god sake!

Peace

Oddworld Munch's Oddysee

I absolutely love the PS1 titles but the Xbox games just didn't have the same feeling as the original. I hyped up for Soulstorm but after New-n-Tasty, I have tempered expectations.

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis3d ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

anast3d ago

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing694d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos4d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius4d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy854d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius4d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
