Has God of War Been Overhyped Before Launch? No, No It Hasn't

God of War is launching tomorrow on PS4 with an insane amount of hype and praise, but it actually lives up to it.

That's the great thing about PS' first party studios. If they ever have trouble, they can count on each other to iron out things. SMS is usually the go-to studio for assistance (ICE Team is usually first, but yeah).

actually there was not much hype about this game surprisingly.
if i remember correctly, it was revealed in between TLG release date, FF7 remake and Shenmue 3 announcements.
Sony have been pretty quiet about it and it paid off i can see.

Well deserved praise for God of War. I haven’t played it yet, but as so many have said “You’ve really not experienced anything quite like this” I can’t imagine how awesome this game will be for us still waiting for the game.

I genuinely hope those who haven’t been feeling this new direction for the game have a bit more interest with all the reviews that have come out & are willing to give it a chance. As I’ve said in previous God of War posts, I’m not a big God of War fan, but loved 1-2, while not being a fan of 3 (although it had some really remarkable moments, and it still looks amazing to this day) along with Acension where the gameplay started to get stale & boring, for me personally.

Cory & SSM have created something special with this game, and I can’t wait to hear what so many of you all think, and we can share our experiences.

There are lots of games like God of war. It does nothing new.
As most said it combines dark souls, tlou, while killing the story and franchise for long time players. It's not bad but if I was sony I wouldn't have put God of War on the case. I almost feel that HZD was a better game. Maybe because I didn't have expectations for HZD, but I did for GOW.

I have Zero faith in Amazon delivering my copy tomorrow.... They used to ship it two days before release and most times I received it on the day or a day before... Now they're more cocky and I won't receive the shipped email till probably 11:30pm tonight and I'm 99.9% sure I won't get it till Monday...

If you have Prime, tell the how dissapointed you are in their service (if it doesn't deliver on time), and tell them you're going to Vance your subscription and spread the word about inconsistency. They may just give you the game for free. If they don't give me mine with my mail tomorrow, I'll get to Gamestop, buy a copy, call Amazon and give them some words. I literally pay for Prime for the release date video games/discount.

They delayed my shipment because of credit card issues and wanted to deliver it on Tuesdsy instead of tomorroww, and I had to change shipment to 1 Day so I can get the CE on time. That is just weird because couple days ago I ordered two books with the sale credit card. I got prime too and I am dissatisfied. Also it arrives usually in the afternoon or by 8pm. No internet for me until then :/

They changed my delivery date from Friday to the following Tuesday. I got on the chat and once they confirmed my Prime membership they adjusted it to one day shipping. That was yesterday morning. I will have it by this afternoon.

i got my copy today and i played it for more than 1 hour. I assure you , no one will be disappointed.
the game is absolute monster.
a real contender to be a game of generation. no question about this.

Yeah I'm sorry, but as a long time God of War fanatic. I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed in this new installment in the God of War series.

I was hoping for something epic with lots of giant boss fights, blood, and action.

I'm happy for those that do like it. It's not a bad game, just not what I was expecting.

On Xbox this game would be a solid 7 out of 10.

I don't see the 10's that everyone is advertising.
