10 Things That Frustrate Xbox One And Xbox One X Gamers

The Xbox One has made great strides, but there are still problems it needs to fix.

I can't say that I have been frustrated by or even experienced most of those issues. Downloads happen mostly overnight while the console is off, really like the way updates are handled in the background. And never once experienced the Game is taking Too Long To Start. Is this a real thing?

I do have some issues though. Here is my list of things that frustrate me.

1. No Dolby Vision support. This makes the UHD BluRay worthless to me. Nothing angers me worse than this. I have to buy a standalone BluRay because MS is too cheap to pay or even allow us to pay a cheap licensing fee.

2. Party Chat reliability. Can't tell you how many times we have had to restart or create new parties because one member will have issues with not hearing or able to communicate. Mostly the error says network settings are blocking Party Chat features which is BS since it was just working and works again if you create a new party.

3. Upload speeds. Why on earth does the network tester show my upload speeds are about 25% of what they actually are. I am hard wired. I can run multiple tests on my PC and they always show the full speeds, why is Xbox Throttling my upload speeds? This is true on 360 as well as the One. Or is this just a glitch in the tester. Either way, fix it.

4. Cannot buy UHD Content if you already own HD versions of the content. Seriously MS? I can't buy a new version of a movie because I already own an older version? Get a new QA team.

5. On screen Controller battery status isn't accurate. So many times I will check my battery and it will show I am at or above 50% and then 20 minutes later my rumble will stop working because I am too low. I have done my own testing and the battery is lasting as long as it should just the indicator seems to be broken. Fix it.

if you feel all these issues need addressing, then why are you here telling your story why not go to the feedback hub on ya console. Any issues I come across I makes sure to give them the feedback like I'm supposed to do. Also if you a preview member, then you know full well there's a detailed footnote breaking down what they fixed and also list the common issues.

maybelovehate2335d ago

They are well aware, both through the Feedback Hub as well as discussions with support. When they fix them, I won't complain about them.

I'd add... no user replaceable hdd. Even the 360 had user replaceable hdd's (with official ones) but the sealed design of the xbo (and subsequent models) prohibits that from happening which leaves the only choice of adding an external.

now, I like that you can add an external and it is also nice Sony adopted the similar practice but Sony also offers the ability to swap the internal drive at your leisure. the process itself is pretty painless but the time involved with backing up, replacing, then restoring is the big chore. Hence why it is more convenient to simply add-on instead of replace.

Still, the option would have been nice.

ClickBaitBolt is Click Bait.

I've had zero problems with my One X, minus having to replace the first one because of a power issue.

As for your concerns, just going to address the last one.

That's a problem with your batteries, NOT the controller or the Xbox. I bought Panasonic Eneloop batteries, not only do they last insanely long, getting an easy 3-4 days worth of usage, but they're %100 accurate when they run low.

Get some premium batteries and you can knock off that concern.

maybelovehate2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

Like I said, I have tested the batteries myself. They last the right amount of time, just the onscreen indicator is wrong. I am using the Microsoft Play and Charge kit. And I have replaced them recently. The batteries are working as they should. The indicator is not.

Every issue I have addresses are real issues.

yumi762335d ago

If xbox had an internal standardized battery this wouldn't be a problem for anyone ever.

chiefJohn1172335d ago

It's your batteries. I had lithium battery for the 360 (had no clue what they do lol just wanted long lasting) and it was showing my batteries at 100% for weeks! And it just went from 100% to dead and I'm like.....wtf? I later found out it was the battery that runs at full power even when it's running dead so the indicator shows 100%

Apple doesn’t let you buy uhd if you own HD, they just give it to you. Let that sink in for a minute, Apple is actually fighting for the consumer while nobody else cares.

maybelovehate2335d ago

Yep, they also support Dolby Vision with Apple TV 4K. And the 4K movies are considerably cheaper. Reason I got it. Shame they don’t get the Disney movies in 4K though. Guardians of the Galaxy for example is 4K hdr on Xbox but not on Apple TV. Not sure why. Guessing Disney is freezing Apple out for some reason.

kevnb2335d ago

Apple was also trying to force equal pricing for uhd vs HD, Disney is probably just resisting that.

Yea, it's a cluttered mess. It's filled with tons of things that basically no one uses that just get in the way of doing what you want.

Not to make this PS4 vs Xbox. But the PS4 UI is SO much better everything is either vertical or horizontal playing a game is never more than a few clicks away. With folders my main menu is just six icons Store, Whats New, My Games Folder, My Apps Folder, The TV Video Folder and the Library. One press up and you have all the system functions Like friends and Trophies ect. It's very minimalistic, I greatly prefer it that way.

chiefJohn1172335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

You clearly haven't used it or at least not lately cause it literally takes 1 step to get to most recent games and 2-3 steps to get to games and apps.
Home button, my games. Lol is the really hard and cluttered? The original u.i was cluttered and annoying. Now it's a home page with your pins. Hit the Xbox button and you have categories like achievement, my games and apps, settings, etc. You switch to, left and right. It's as simple as the 360 now.

yumi762335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

Yes, and compared to PS4 menu and really any menu it's very cluttered. Sorry I prefer minimalist where only the things I use are on screen.

Not only do I find it easier to find things and organize on PS4 with folders. The whole xbox menu just looks ugly and cluttered. It's like a computer desktop that no one ever organized with tons of stuff they have never even clicked. On my PC I turn off icons so the only thing I see is my desktop background and even there I hard to turn off Microsoft's ugly tiles on the start menu. I hate all that ugly animated crap.

And on PS4 where your just one row away at most of your game folder and all you have to do is use the directional buttons not clicking home and going though yet another menu.

chiefJohn1172335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

It's called my pins. Nothing but the things you want can be on the home page lol so what are you talking about? I told you, you have used it in awhile that comment proved it. I think the word your looking for is preferred. Cause when it comes to simplicity you can't complain. You simply prepare the PS4 u.i. set up style. ;)

So how do you click on apps etc if you're removing them all on your pc?

Again it's called my pins you don't have to press home(unless youre in game) ya you obviously never used it lol. Everything is a d pad or if in game home/Xbox button+ dpad away. It's as simple as the 360 (in game wise) and even more simple when not in game than the 360 was imho

yumi762335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

No, you don't get it, pins don't make it less cluttered looking they just make it cluttered with the things you chose.

I prefer the simplicity of a single short bar and being able to put things into a folder so even the bar is neat and clean looking.

Note: this isn't my PS4 homepage I am not Cyber Salad

Look how clean this is even that Fallout icon could be in the games folder
https://ixquick-proxy.com/d...

Add in a nice Dynamic Theme and PS4 Menu is clean and pretty to look at.

Opinions - or facts - that don't match the view that Xbox is #1 in gaming?

Goldby2335d ago

Can you show us these facts that Xbox is number 1?

I said "view". As in the view flat Earthers have.
