As promised, the demo for Sonic 2 HD, a fan remake of the classic SEGA Mega Drive platformer, has been released to the public. This demo features both Sonic and Tales, and lets you speed through the world together as a team with a friend, or fly solo through West Side Island.
Team S2HD is almost done working on a playable demo of, what seems to be, one of the best fan-made games we have seen.
Sega needs to hire these guys and make this a real game. Look at how successful Sonic Mania has been. I'd buy this. I wish it were Sonic 1 HD though.

I love how active and crazy the backgrounds are in this remix. It's just much more, I don't know - out there. The animations are great. This HD fan project looks great too, and is obviously going for a more faithful remaster. I'd love to get my hands on it!
It's pretty sad when fans can do better Sonic games then SEGA.
I'd take that over Sonic Boom anyday
Well, you have to take into account that these fan developers are not bound by big company production deadlines and quality assurance. They have the peace of mind and time to deliver a truly great experience. And key word "fan made" is very important as well. After Yuji Naka left, every Sonic game was probably made by people who never played a sonic game.
THIS is how a Sonic game should be.
It was ALWAYS a better game when it wasn't all about speed.
* My only complaint was they made the Bass too weak in the Audio track, other then that it looks and sounds amazing.

How long will it take before SEGA pulls the plug on that game though? Just like they did with the SOR3 Remake...
He should have not released a demo. Instead just announce it when it's 100% done, then provide all links for the torrent. In that way nothing will get pulled it's way to late to stop anything :D And it will always be there to download. This Sonic looks amazing though: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
