I disagree. OLED is brighter and colors pop. But people are already complaining about price. When they see the more affordable Samsung with HDR, they will be mightily impressed and more likely to be able to afford the package.

You do know the QLED sets are priced equally to LG's OLED TV's, and also the QLED is brighter set to boot. Just making sure your aware your statement is incorrect.

OLED is less bright but has true black, so the picture has amazing contrast. QLED is much brighter though, and better in bright rooms. On the shop floor, QLED will look most impressive. At home with cinema setup, OLED will look amazing.

Okay.. I will admit to not shopping TV's in over 2 years and only seeing a few OLED TV's but they left a good impression. Cant recall QLED. I was actually responding to 2pacalypsenow and prefer they choose the more affordable option. Was NOT talking about QLED. Not sure what QLED is.

Price is not the issue, the've become similar. LCD still has some valueable advantages to OLED when it comes to gaming though, I wouldn't recommend OLED for it yet. My next TV will probably be an OLED though (in 3-5 years)

QLED is just an LCD panel using Quantum Dots, Sony has been using them for years.

With OLED getting more popular every company is coming out with their "X"LED names.

According to Rtings, the LG C7 is the best 4k HDR gaming tv followed by the Sony X930E.

It sits at 21.1 MS

The Samsung KS9000 has the same HDR rating as Sony X930E, which is essentially the 2016 model of their Q Series. I went the KS9000 route simply because I wanted a 75" and the other 2, 65" is the largest they have. All look stunning. I think this a good move by MS.

That is assuming grapichs is all he/she cares about. Maybe they want the best living room experience with their social circle of friends on a platform that his/her friends play on. I own all major platforms, and play MP games on Xbox just because that's where my friends play on. Also, have a OLED in the living room means you can use it for more than just console gaming.

Not saying this is your stance, but people really put them selfs in a box and has to be so binary one or the other.

The only thing I agree with, is the 4K monitor. I will be gaming on one, Im looking at LG and Samsung Qdot. I dont really care for HDR..and most high end monitors are 10bit panels.

i just picked up a sony 900E 65" for £1299. the hdr on horizon 3 is amazing can't wait to add 4k to that with the xbox one x

I purchased the X900E at launch and returned for the KS8500. The Samsung without local dimming has a slightly better static contrast ratio, can get almost 600nit brighter and has 50% lower input lag (unless Sony has managed to update this since.

KS8000 can't maintain higher brightness. X900e can maintain 800+ nits all the time, but KS8000 brightness varies constantly and it can drop to 500 nits ( according to rtings video ) and keeps it most time about that number.

Rtings test are scientific and not real world usage. They have HDR windows displayed for the maximum amount of time to test for abl or brightness drop off.

But real world use in any given scene whether film or game that supports HDR, no scene will remain static at peak brightness long enough for it to dim.

Sony certainly has the advantage of worse case scenario constant peak brightness, that advantage will rarely matter.
Unless you sit and watch full screen white HDR slides for 60 seconds to watch it dim.

Because you copy/pasted part from rtings X900E review, then i'm pretty sure that you saw Q7/Q9 reviews and how they are scored lower than Sony's LCD's.

Overall yeah, its because the 900E gets brighter, but even at that margin its not by much and the q7 had a MUCH better color spec than the 930 or 900. Can't just look at the overall review man, take it piece by piece if you really wanna compare. They also place price as a factor and in that realm its not even close as the QLEDSs are much more expensive

Well, according to rtings, Q7 and Q9 has worse black uniformity than X900 and X930. IMO, better blacks, better colors.

LG OLED 2017 4K TVs for Xbox One X is a better experience than QLED 4K TV, which is a flat out ripe off! Just look at both the user reviews for Best Buy, and Amazon for example. Even the Rting reviews go more in dept about that being a waste of money. Samsung's KS8000 -KS9000 is still a better buy than Samsung's QLED TV that is really the samething, but the QLED lags behind on features.

the Samsung website values this TV at $1,800 then on top of that, you buy the $500 Xbox One X thats a god damn total of $2300!!!! are you insaneee to think this deal is for the masses!!!?

Even if MS somehow make a deal with Samsung where you get both the Xbox One X and the TV cheaper than if sold individually you're looking at around the $2000 i sincerely doubt they'll both be taking anything less than a $200 dollar hit so im working it out that they both share a $150 dollar loss to bring that $2300 down to $2000 dollars... But either way this is CLEARLY not for mass market.

This combo is undoubtedly going to be gorgeous but there are certainly cheaper alternatives that would have greater appeal to the masses... i just think this is gonna be another misstep by MS' PR department in showing how 4k should play because to the average casual fan hearing THIS is the way to play 4k on Xbox One X and seeing the price tag that comes with it will surely alienate and distance them without them actually doing any research. i guess it remains to be seen how things go.

I just picked up a 75" KS9000(2016 model) for $2,999. It was a Labor Day close out sale. This thing looks awesome!! My last couple of TV's are Samsungs. I got the 55" 6 series for my room to go along with the XB1S, and now my KS9000 is waiting for the X!

Ok so my roomate bought the 2017 oled LG tv , and while i thought the blacks were hands down miles better than the rest of the pack, the controller, and u.i. (user interface) had NOTHING on Samsungs flagship qled series. The Samsung was also brighter...

On topic:

Why is noone asking how much this will cost? Qled series doesnt even make a 42 inch with 55 being the smallest costing 1600-1800$$... Even if by fall these tvs were... 1200$$ that would still be +1700 for this setup. Maybe Samsung will make a 42 inch just for MS and only cost 500... 1000 seems more like it.

Anyone getting a TV for 4k gaming would be crazy not to get an LG OLED B7. They can be found for $1750 or so online, and in general, are more affordable than the Samsung Q8 and Q9 (overpriced). Not to mention the B7's picture blows the QLED away.

Honestly, I haven't been particularly impressed with Samsung's lineup for 2017. They're gonna need to jump on the OLED bandwagon soon or they'll eventually get left behind.
