chrisx2538d ago (Edited 2538d ago )

What a ridiculous title. The games sony announces and presents alone is stuff of envy from ms and nintendo

GtR35olution2538d ago (Edited 2538d ago )

Sony's uphill battle?lol. PlayStation is at the top of the mountain

bradfh2538d ago

more like Sony's Downhill battle because they are finally coming down the mountain to meet ms

morganfell2538d ago

Uphill? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Desperate for clicks much? Well you get none and you are hereby blacklisted.

thekhurg2538d ago

This is the typical Microsoft paid sponsorship that comes out around E3 every single year. We're going to be flooded for the next month or two about how Sony is in trouble, how Microsoft is changing the game stage, etc..

It's just a bunch of overpaid PR nonsense that happens like clockwork during every single major gaming event of the year. None of it is legit, all of it is just more fake news stories.

UCForce2538d ago

PlayStation is always win.

How is it an uphill battle? Even in confirmed games sony has more that either of the competition to show at E3, then theres whatever suckerpunch is working on and any other surprisesthey may have

freshslicepizza2538d ago

Sony doesn't really have any weaknesses but I think there only uphill battle will be PSVR and what kind of commitment they truly have in the product.

SpaceRanger2538d ago

There's plenty of current and future support for PSVR. Especially considering that Sony and Samsung are the current leaders in VR, Winn Apple instantly taking up the AR market with their devices as of yesterday.

What's your deal with spreading false info and concern?

freshslicepizza2538d ago

So it was false for me to say they don't have any weaknesses? Or is everything I said leveraged on my PSVR comment? Sorry but so far I don't see much commitment from Sony. It's biggest title so far is Resident Evil 7 so if you think paying to exclude other VR support is your way of commitment I'm not sure what else to say.

Farpoint seems to have come and gone without too much of a bang with Sony once again limiting stock for yet another peripheral, the new gun.

So tell me again all this support? GT Sport and its limited integration? Like I said, Sony does not have much weakness and no real uphill battle other than proving they stand behind PSVR.

Vr passed a million sales...what are you on about? And that's with its cost still high.

PhilSpincer2538d ago

Well. At least they have announced the numbers. You spent all that time going on and on about Sony not releasing the numbers. You should be satisfied.

I wonder though why you never complain about MS releasing Xbone numbers and ask over and over again about those...

DarXyde2538d ago

I can somewhat agree, moldybread, for reasons you probably didn't foresee.

I agree that there is an uphill battle concerning VR. It's a new medium that isn't essential to owning any platform unless we're talking about VR exclusive titles. Wii being met with critical sales is because it was something new and it forced you to adopt the new way to play if you wanted to play big games like Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, or Twilight Princess. It was also novel. That combination worked favorably for Nintendo. VR is different because you don't need to embrace it to own these platforms and no platform holders have created huge must-have titles using their popular Ups. That's definitely a barrier. If, say, The Last of Us, part II required VR, I'm certain sales would jump. So yes, Sony has their work cut out for them here as do the other VR compatible platforms, but they can work together to make the medium bigger.

I disagree on two things:

First is the idea that Sony has no weaknesses. That's dangerous thinking. They're doing phenomenally and really providing more than enough to play on PS4, but they don't have anything to address Game Pass and they could do more to make PS Now more appealing. What's more, they could be doing Moe with Pro. These issues can of course be addressed at E3, so they could be nothing.

The second part I disagree with is the notion that Sony isn't committed to VR. I have a good feeling you'll reconsider your position after the show.

morganfell2538d ago

Sony just released a trailer today for Arizona Sunshine. VR with the Aim controller.

freshslicepizza2538d ago (Edited 2538d ago )

I just watched it, looks pretty bland and its also on the other VR units. Your typical zombie shooter and the graphics are not very good either.

Christopher2538d ago

Disagree with ya on that one, moldy. It doesn't look like L4D, but for a VR game? It looks like the right direction and, as with all VR games, graphics are not going to look that great unless it's just like watching a movie. It wasn't just on rails, had actual aiming. And, for it to not be tied to just one system is the best part of it. PSVR still has the lower entry point, but selling any single game to a 1m market reach is stupid unless you absolutely know every single one of them will buy your game.

I think people expect way too much out of VR, much like how the opposite doesn't understand the niche market VR is in and will be in for a very very long time.

OB1Biker2537d ago (Edited 2537d ago )

Yea right. Another thing some people don't get on here is it looks actually better and more impressive when you actually wear the HMD
Also that is the tip of the iceberg for many PSVR announcements that don't get past specialised VR sites. Gaming sites ignore most VR news.

MegamanXXX2537d ago

Actually I think Farpoint is PSVR best game

DragonDDark2537d ago

PSVR is the best selling VR headset right now

Uphill battle lol

Sony crushed the last 2 E3s

Razzer2537d ago

This year it is wall to wall games for Sony, yet again. I'll take that "uphill battle" every year.

Nice. It's really cool that PC players get to play this masterpiece.

PrinceOfAnger12h ago

It has surpassed spider man now
it's 71k+
game did this with way shorter time than spider man.

RNTody10h ago

Great, I loved this game. Definitely think it's Sucker Punch's best work to date!

rippermcrip10h ago

Is this going to be the new thing thing? Articles about Steam reviews? Which of course was in response to the false article about the review bombings in the first place.

Christopher7h ago

Hey, just a heads up that the new owners did open news to Steam updates, but we try our best to not allow them to go on daily updates unless relevant to some other news. I understand this isn't everyone's cup and tea and sympathize, but the door has been open. If you feel it's 'too much' please do PM me or submit a ticket to the mod team. Thank you.

HobbesBluth2h ago

Bro literally has saved you from having to type the letter "g", clicking once on "ghosts of tsushima" to see how reviews sit, then having to click a SECOND TIME on "Community Hub" button ALL THE WAY at the top right (shout out to the necks of the 45" and up ultrawide crew) and looking and current player count... and your response is to complain about that?

GamerzElite10h ago

This is good game and Ghost eliminate all fake outrage.

CrimsonWing699h ago(Edited 8h ago)

I always get confused by this, but is 72k good sales numbers for a game? I keep seeing games fail at selling 2.5 million and that they need to be on multiple platforms but is an additional 72k adding much?

Fishy Fingers8h ago

Im not sure how its confusing :\

72k actively playing. Not 72k sold.

A good example is Helldivers 2, 6m sold, 450k (at its peak) active players.

But how many swords swung is what we're all really waiting for.

Crows908h ago

72k is concurrent
...that is not the sold figure.

Michiel19898h ago

for one they already had a huge launch on the playstation, they don't need to sell 5m to make the porting to pc profitable and as pointed out below that number you see is just the people playing it at this moment.

Plague-Doctor275h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Also from the insomniac leak we know these PC ports are a quick turnaround and budgeted around $2-4 million. At 100k sales they break even including Steams cut. They may not sell millions but they are a great ROI

PSN Store "Weekend Offer" Includes Loads of AAA Titles, Here's the Full List

Sony has also launched the PSN Store "Weekend Offer" this May 17, and this one includes a lot of AAA titles, and 2K-published games.

TwoPicklesGood13h ago

Some good games but they are all old and should be a lot cheaper than what they are on that sale. Hard pass.
