For Honor is paying for the DLC sins of past games

For Honor's DLC policy isn't actually much worse than average for a modern AAA title. It may be irritating, but it shouldn't be surprising.

Yeah.. no, they shoehorned in so much BS to help peddle their DLC crap.

rocketpanda2577d ago

Didn't they try to justify their overpriced emotes to content you find in an MMO where they said you aren't supposed unlock everything, but only as time goes on. Except it's a brawler and nowhere near to what a MMO is. Also most MMOs have the decency to be fee with microtransactions. Ubisoft wants to charge full price for their games fully loaded with microtransactions.

The only thing for honor is paying for is a poor game design which is bsed around microtransaction in a full priced game. Im surprised they disnt claim to be too innovative.

Interesting, then why do I have 2 heroes with full Heroic gears and Mythic outfits, which cost 15k steel and have 0 impact on the game (which is around $30 for both through microtransactions), without paying a cent, except for the game itself?

The fact is that you can't even get Heroic gear until you reach rep 3, and by that time you should have way more than enough steel to open chests and get full heroic gear with stats that you want.

Microtransactions are there purely for cosmetics that have 0 impact on the game, those microtransactions exist in a majority of todays games, including Uncharted 4, Persona 5, GTA 5, MGS 5, and Halo 5.

But you decide to attack this game. Why? Oh because it's made by Ubisoft. Completely ignoring the fact that this game is truly innovative with great foundation for the new genre of 3D fighting games with RPG elements.

Kokyu2577d ago (Edited 2577d ago )

You have all that, if you really have all that, because of the changes Ubisoft made to the economy of For Honor a few weeks ago not because the gsme doesnt require money or rediculous grind also you have zero idea how this game works. The "cosmetic'" do not have zero impact on the game. As a beta tester for this game I realized early on the "cosmetics" help you get your revenge meter up quicker, this is common knowledge. The fact you have two heros with whatever nonsense means dick really again if you even really have that and spent no money.

You love the game and decided to single my comment out, for some reason, because you couldnt control your inner fan boy. I told ubisoft the game was garbage when I was beta testing, I told ubisoft the games micros where a problem, I did my job and they ignored it. Its no surprise the game is getting bad press and has a very small fanboy filled player base like yourself. The game has lots of other problems besides the microtransactions but the micros are one of the biggest.

Lastly I attack every game with a damn microtransaction and just because other games do it, well I guess Ubisoft gets a free pass then because well you love the game. The sad fact is your a fanboy of ubisoft and For Honor and it doesnt matter what either of them do you will smile while they kick your teeth in then go on the defense of the act itself.

Poor brainwashed kid. You don't even know the difference between cosmetics and gear in this game. Maybe if you did some research or actually played the beta for more than 30 min you would know.

They made changes to steel gain through orders only about 5 days ago. And those changes were very minor, I had my outfits and gear before that.

I'm not a fanboy, I'm just not an ignorant hater like many of you are. The previous game from Ubisoft that I bought was Far Cry 4. I don't support developers who make garbage games, I buy games when I know it's good or if I've tried it.

I suggest you don't type comments with completely zero knowledge spreading your hatred bullshit.

This is what it has come to now. If people keep buying microtransactions and DLC like this in AAA or any other games it will continue.

As customers we have all the power but we still don't use it effectively enough. Stop buying this crap and the publishers will stop selling it as it won't be worth it for them.

For Honor isn't paying for past games sins. This is past, present and future games sins until we stop it.

mocaak2577d ago

For Honor has no paid DLC, everything will be available for free. And microtransactions are only useful for cosmetics, gear that actually impacts the game is easily obtainable and upgradable, unless you decide to sink your steel into cosmetics.

Wow, this game is still going! Have not played it yet but wondering if it's worth jumping into

INMATEofARKHAM91d ago

I played it when it first came out and it's pretty solid though I did moved on from the MP fairly quick... I did enjoy the campaign and I see the game on sale for a few dollars so I do recommend picking it up on sale.

Garethvk91d ago

It has plenty of action and updates.

Garethvk91d ago

They have had many good updates along the way. There was a great one where you had to defend an attack and you could use hot oil and all kinds of things to defend.
