Darkstation : Fracture Demo Impressions

Drakstation writes "Lucas Arts has really a strong reputation in the gaming industry for being one of the premiere publishers out there. Of course they have most of their titles usually having a Star Wars brand in the title, today we are checking out the latest game from Lucas Arts that has nothing to do with Star Wars, the game is Fracture and the demo has just been released to the Xbox Live Arcade."

I thought the demo was sorta "meh."

The terrain deformation is pretty cool, but in my opinion it's not deep enough to base an entire game on - which is what LucasArts seems to have done with Fracture. And outside of the terrain deformation there really isn't much to this game we haven't seen. From what I can tell, the story is pretty generic too.

It was OK though. Fun enough (although the gunplay itself felt a little too simple for my taste). And I think 12-player multiplayer with the terrain deformation would be awesome.

So... I'm at the point where a good or a bad review could sway my opinion.

Last Chance to Play: Fracture

"ZL: The reception was less than underwhelming. Fracture is one of those games that has already been forgotten; “terrain deformation” failed to impress gamers, the struggle between the Pacificans and the Alliance (though I’m not sure who they’re aligned with) inspired no one, everyone hated the main character and the online servers are host to nothing more than tumbleweeds."
