Cool, but I am disappointed on how long this is taking and the game still looks like it is no where near finished.

I am not. This could mean SOTN II in spiritual form. For me that is huge and I will wait for such a gem to be crafted with the time it requires. I can wait another year for this if it meant I'd love it.

How long becomes to long though?

MyDietEqualsGames2666d ago

Well, I said a year. Realistically, if it's almost done, I think they should drop it on us. But if they can polish it and iron out bugs and sell us a bigger game content-wise, before any DLC... how much is too much. :P

I agree with what you're saying under your breath, though. I hope we get a release date soon. The small gameplay video above definitely gave me SOTN vibes. I think they are absolutely on the right track here.

Very excited about this game. Hopefully the colors pop a little more. Has a slightly washed out look in comparison to the character.

Why do none of the rooftop platforms placements make sense, and why do they not look like the actual rooftop? Hmm.

Metroidvania Corner: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

VGChartz's Paul Broussard: "Despite whatever annoyances I have, there’s no question that Ritual of the Night is a very good start. It handles exploration and item progression about as well as any indie Metroidvania I’ve played, and has some really good location variety to supplement it. The combat and balancing are problems that hopefully get smoothed out in the now-announced sequel (I think that’s still happening? It’s been two years since we heard anything concrete), but if it can improve on those, it’ll be a highlight of the genre. For now, though, it's still a good example of the genre."
