I do not care anymore. I wanted them to be the Nintendo they once were before the Wii, but there's no point anymore. PlayStation is giving me the core gaming I need. The Switch looks interesting, but without power it will still be held back by gimmicks. I've learned my lesson with them and I don't care if they were party of my chilhood and bla bla. I'm not blinded by any of that to not realize the same damn pattern for the last 2 gens. I'll wait or just skip the Switch altogether

I don't see portability being as gimmicky as VR or Kinect for gaming but hey I'm open to a pitch about it being more gimmicky than those two.

I know the diehards will dislike this but I would love to see Nintendo exclusives being made on current gen consoles. Zelda, Metriod, etc. Imagine these games in Ratchet and Clank or Horizon ZD level graphics and open worlds...

I think the GC controller was one of the best controllers and agree that they should improve on it like how Sony improved on the DS3.
Looking at the current history of Nintendo, I don't see them aiming for the most advanced console in the competition. Would be nice if the Switch will be as powerful as the PS4Pro.
Number 4 is a tough call I can't see happening but I hope to be completely wrong. I really hope Nintendo will turn things around but I feel so detached from them after the GC.
5 year cycle is short but I think that's what happens when they release an underpowered console late in the competition. 3rd party devs will move on after 1 year of support especially when the sales aren't there or enough to regain support.

Nintendo doesn't need to go third party or be like Sony or MS. They just need to compete and bring power. They want to stay away from the rest and do their own thing, but what they don't realize is that it is not working. This is all I want them to do:

1) Match the competition in raw power
2) Give Miyamoto his retirement and bring a new talent
3) Give us a standard gamepad (an improved GC controller) for every console
4) More aggressive 1st party content and better release flow
5) Longer console cycles

Point 2 and 5 are my biggest gripes. Nintendo seems to just use Miyamoto as a hype machine. People still think he is contributing to the latest games as director or designer, and when you check the credits, he is just an Overseer or consultant, while the actual devs get no recognition. Nintendo needs a new Miyamoto.

5 year cycle is too short and worse when they barely release 1st party content, even worse when they don't get 3rd party support. The wii u feels like a waste of money and unfulfilled. I don't think I played more than 15 games in five years, compared to PS4 I was already over that in couple months

I will buy every Nintendo console that has smash bros on it. Smash 4 carried the Wii U for me and it will carry the Switch as well. Any additional games are a bonus. Smash is a game that I play almost every time we have company over.

Tlou Remastered sold more than two of those top five Wiiu games me tioned for sales purposes and as much as a third :) and it was a remaster :) Not to mention when you hardly have any games to sell and constant dry spells that means nothing.

Wish ppl could see my ps4 collection right now, too many games to buy, not enough money or time (back log crazy).

Probably the system with the LEAST 1st party exclusives, hardly no third partys and that god awful gamepad that only some 1st partys used. To go 4 years without a zelda or metroid is a fail no matter how you slice it.

At this point, many care about the Switch.

Search volume shows consumer interest. Even if it had been lower, the majority of its commentary, outside of THIS crap-ass site, is significantly more positive than the Wii U's was.
So does the fact that 95% of all comments in the release trailer have been positive.
So does the fact that the list of third parties who have pledged support to the Switch is at least double the size of the Wii U before IT launched.

You can keep living in your own bubble all you like, but you're still intriniscally wrong.
There is a very large, and still growing, number of people that still care about Nintendo; you're just being a hater who is trying to slow down the system's momentum prior to its launch, just like the other few articles that came out recently trying to degradate the system and company.
You can put up all of the data you like, nothing has changed the fact that many people still do care about Nintendo. We wouldn't be seeing such an abundance of traffic regarding the Switch at all, if "nobody" really cared.
Nor would the 3DS be the best selling handheld, nor would Pokemon GO or Mario RUN be making Nintendo stand out so much.
