No, they figured out how to copy the NAND and the bios so you could effectively clone a PS4 and its data but if both systems tried to go online it would almost certainly result in a ban. They were not able to actually pirate games, just run games that were tied to the account / system.

There has been some progress with firmware 1.76 but it's definitely not "jailbroken"

It is not a big deal. Every Bluetooth device identifies and connects to another. But that does not mean it will be usable.

Bluetooth is just the communication channel.. the devices still need to speak the same language to actually function.. to my knowledge anyways

Pretty good analogy. Bluetooth devices can connect using the standard bluetooth protocol, which will include the device name in the handshaking routine. but all other inputs through said connection would just be jibberish to the receiving OS, and likely disregarded unless it was using a supported protocol. Some bluetooth devices can ignore connections to devices which they don't support however...usually as a security measure.

However, some crafty hacker could possibly find a way to interpret the signal outputs of the controller for the PS4 to recognize, since the X1 controller does allow firmware upgrades.:)

Sony should totally write drivers for that controller to make people happy but I don't see that happening since a lot of people prefer that to the PS4's one and those would be missed sales. (I do like both btw)
