Dark Souls 3: Interactive Poetry, A Powerful Dance with Darkness

COG writes - Dark Souls 3 crosses a barrier in gaming that many games aspire to, but few truly succeed at. Video games ARE art and Dark Souls III shows it.

Such a fantastic game. The franchise keeps getting better with every game.

That's a very pretentious way of praising this great game

Have to start evaluating games as art eventually. I think it only becomes pretentious when you make the assumption that everyone has to appreciate it in the same way.

And personally, I'm with the author on this one. Dark Souls has always been pretty unique in it's ability to convey what is best about the medium. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with games like Uncharted or MGS that tend to take a more cinematic approach to things, but the Souls games tackle almost every aspect of their design in a way that is wholly unique to gaming.

Calling it "a dance with darkness" and throwing in a T.S Eliott quote at the end sounds more like a high-schooler trying to impress than art

All the bosses are only from Dark Souls. No Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Demon Souls

These games bore me to tears. I don’t mind the difficulty it’s just the constant killing the same enemies over every time you rest that makes it so monotonous

You open up a lot of shortcuts so you can skip many enemies. But if I don’t like games I don’t buy them.
